The final day of Toronto Folk Fest was all about togetherness and bringing together folk music from around the world to Ward’s Island.

We danced with the @tometisjiggers and fiddlers, learned about the trees with @pete.moss.music, @julietitle sang us folk songs about the environment. @seu_music brought Mexican laments to life, @zamira_lacosta showed us love and heartbreak on the streets of Havana, @bobbydovemusic took us on a Canadiana road trip. @_aysanabee_ dropped by for a surprise set!

We danced and celebrated life, love and togetherness with @lesstoches and @kobotown, and @rudyraykwaku and band led a magical band procession on the ferry to return us to the real world. ✨

It’s been a beautiful three days of music, love and memories, and we’re delighted we could share it with you. 🩵

Our first @rooftoprevue show of the year couldn't have been any more perfect 🌄

@clerel started the night with the most beautiful stories and a voice so smooth the birds were singing along! Then @kingcardiac had us dancing as the sun went down to their groovy tunes feat. @alan.z.keys on the organ and @lowellwhitty on drums.

It was a perfect start to the season and we can't thank you all enough for coming out! It was a full house and we loved seeing many familiar faces, as well as meeting lots of new friends who came out for the first time. Your support means the world to us and we cannot wait for the summer ahead.

Hello sunshine this is kind of a stupid little lull in time isn’t it? New Year on a Wednesday I guess?!

🎟️ NEW YEAR’S EVE 🍾
The only night of the year we really, truly want to be friends and family only. We still have a few spots left, and for that we want to hear how you made friends at DROM!

Email us to nyeatdrom@gmail.com & tell us the story of how you made friends at DROM + what time you’d like to attend.

⏰ 8-11PM for dinner only with the beauty people from @sextete_. Our chefs have prepared a 3-course meal, to be paid at DROM because we didn’t want you to pay stupid lil fees on top of it all.

⏰ 11-late if you want to come by just before midnight after a cute meal with your friends, and enjoy a glass of champagne with us all and dance like tomorrow doesn’t exist with @latintos.band and keep on going til 4 with No Limits led by @selcuksunaofficial 🎷

⏰ ALL NIGHT if you want to spend dinner, the big passage between one day to another, and even more with us 🫶

-WE ARE CLOSED ON JANUARY 1ST-

But we come back all recharged and with more music on the weekend! Sunday is very very special, it’s kind of a Lillian Day you know 🥰

Celebrating our dear friend and music lover from a few blocks away at Queen and St Patrick - Evan’s birthday this Monday! Come say 🎉

…ripening like the tree which does not force its sap, and stands confident in the storms of spring, without the fear that after them may come no summer. It does come. But it comes only to the patient, there as though eternity lay before them, so unconcernedly still and wide ~ Rainer Maria Rilke

Another year gone - gracefully unruly, just the way I like it.

❤️ PEACE ❤️

King Cardiac drapes heartfelt songwriting in a technicolour dream coat of unbridled horns and brooding rhythms. The genre-bending ensemble features singer-songwriter and guitarist Gabriel DeSantis uniting with Toronto heavyweights Paul Metcalfe, Kae Murphy, Sam Petite, Tom Richards, Lowell Whitty and Alan Zemaitis to explore matters that rule the heart with intricate grooves. King Cardiac draws upon diverse musical influences for its distinct sound, inspired by the expansive musical palette offered by its base city, Toronto, ON. New Orleans jazz, Latin rhythms, soul and rock and roll are all pieces in the sonic mosaic King Cardiac builds as a backdrop to words on the human experience.
