I have a few video clips from this year that I could just watch over and over, to lighten my heart. I still laugh about this moment of stunning @notpi with @psyril_cybin ‘s light-up armor engineering as we airbrushed the UV gradients into my Lava Elemental look for @kingofdragtv Episode 5. It was such fun to bring the all the pieces of the look together in the @traumaqueenfx studio to form the final, cohesive character and look including the wig by @thezanything and me; additional sewing work by @kingconniedingus , all those masterful silicone creations by @traumaqueenfx , and organizing, moral support, video-taking and off-camera commentary by @knottasimulation ❤️‍🔥

As Enter Sandman says, “Don’t forget, my son/ To include everyone” and when I work on a big project, it truly takes a village! I loved creating the unearthly studio setup to capture this driven-so-mad-by-the-project-that-he’s-eating-paint tableau of existential career creative horror with my dad, who helped paint the tarps and bodyforms and my vinyl sandals. @voltoio absolutely “got” the intensity and mood of this shoot, and curated a wonderful photoshoot environment for me to play in as well as capturing moments of the “art clown”iness that it feels like difficult client relationships sometimes see me as, juxtaposed with ultraviolet moments which could be stills from a horror movie! I’m excited to share many more gems from this photographic collaboration.

@deannajmo thoughtfully patterned, created, and fitted the jumpsuit and crop top to nail down the look of the original design sketches and be perfect for then applying my Ager Dyer skills to heavily distress, fray, and cover in paint. I am so often in countless layers for drag that we have started to discuss heat-friendly looks which are light and easy to wear, as well as move toward my own challenge to myself to show more body when I feel safe to do so. Much of the invisible design and planning work on this piece that Deanna did also focused on this new phase of drag outfits where I am more comfortable and less prone to overheating!

@traumaqueenfx has helped me and the rest of the Philly drag tv scene literally embody our dreams in so many ways, and these 17 foam latex casts of my actual hands, 3 in my hair in my skin tone and 14 in white @alexander.great.king , did an incredible kindness to entirely take on the wig styling and hair-hand-attachment. @thequirkyzipper created my name tag. @kingconniedingus made the hand attachment system and additional sewing work. @recksus made my custom shark dentures. @notpi and @irisspectre consulted on my design ideas!

There are people we meet in this lifetime who feel familiar from the very beginning—like somehow our souls already knew each other before we ever crossed paths. You are one of those people for me.
You have seen pieces of me that I don’t always know how to put into words, and somehow you’ve made me feel understood without needing an explanation. You’ve been there for the laughter, the tears, the chaos, the growth, the quiet moments, and all the versions of me in between.
I hope you know just how deeply grateful I am for you. Not just for the memories we’ve made, but for the person you are. Your heart, your presence, your kindness, your strength, and the way you make the people around you feel seen.
Some friendships are simply friendships. Ours feels like something my soul was meant to experience. A connection that reminds me that certain people are placed in our lives for a reason, even if we don’t always understand why.

Wrapping up another summer of boyfriend material with our annual staff appreciation cook out. Leading community is also about feeding community. So what better way to feed the boys for all their hard work @_mister.right_ and @herb.rollen.gordon grill up some weiners and crack open some cold ones. These guys put in so much work every day that has made this go from one all drag king brunch to 4 all drag king and trans masc re accruing events. We cannot thank you all enough for making this blossom into what it is today. The ones who were there from the beginning to everyone that has jumped on since seeing what our mission is and believing in it enough to spend your free time building for the king community.
Cheers to many more years of production,community work, and fellowship.

Sometimes you gotta show these boys why you’re the boss!
I really do not know what I would do with out these guys. Yes I put in soo much work with @boyfriendmaterialphl but I wouldn’t be able to do it with out these guys believing in me.
I am forever grateful for you all that have been there from almost the start and for my new guys that have jumped in seeing my heart and wanted to put in the work.
I love you guys

(Side note strength comes in so many weird ways being a disabled person moments like this can be bitter sweet. They don’t always happen but i can really make you feel good for a second )

7.12.2026 PHILLY PHATTY AWARDS

The only PPA we love!!! This night to recognize the excellence of local fat and plus size performers felt so Philly at its core, because there’s something about Philly.. fat respectability politics don’t seem to have the same moralistic chokehold here like it does everywhere else. Maybe it’s the cheesesteak and hoagies and tastykakes lifestyle. Maybe it’s the Black history of this city where Black people have lived freely since before the Civil War and where Black scholars have studied the histories of racism that weaponized normal body diversity to justify commodifying human beings. Maybe it’s Maybelline 🫥

No but seriously, it IS that deep. Size bias and body shame as a social moral/value are intrinsically linked with anti-Black racism. (📚 rec: Fearing the Black Body: The Racial Origins of Fat Phobia by Sabrina Strings) So, like so many things I love that make life more safe, more authentic, and more rich, I think we have to credit Black Philadelphia, especially Black women, for a culture here that is just a little less willing to cave to the beauty standards of white European pdfiles. @queenzingaaa is one such Philadelphian, a pillar of Philly burlesque community, without whom the Philly Phatty Awards would not happen.

There was so much talent and love for our scene in the room! Everyone looked beautiful and handsome and like hot little freaks. I think these are important things to document. All the award winners are pictured except for the organizers for the winner of Best Plus Size Event, @phillyfatcon! I’ll add a comment to list the winners in each category. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE WINNERS AND NOMINEES 👏👏👏👏
