POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

The Earth has always been the quiet healer.
But we learned to look for answers everywhere else.
Layer upon layer, we built distance—
until healing felt hidden.

Maybe it isn’t lost.
Maybe we just have to look between the layers to find it again.

Inspired by the landscapes of King County and the experience of finding nature differently after moving from India—
these birds in flight carry Gond patterns within them, like immigrants themselves, finding healing and belonging in the layered rhythms of nature, slowly building familiarity with new terrains.

Spent the day volunteering at this wonderful art workshop with 100+ participants, and it reminded me—art is more than expression, it’s preservation.
Every color, every pattern, every story shared today is a thread connecting generations.
Grateful to be part of a space where culture isn’t just remembered, but actively passed forward with @rasa_seattle and @saha.kriti.collective and presence of the @indianconsulateseattle
Honored to volunteer and witness this beautiful exchange. Thank you @rasa_seattle for this wonderful opportunity!

Harbor Island Studios is at an important moment, and meaningful work is already underway to secure a viable path forward.
The King County Film Advisory Board (KCFAB), formerly EFAB, is working closely with the King County Council, the Executive’s office, and industry stakeholders to address the structural, legal, and funding challenges facing the studio. KCFAB has led the charge for nearly every major improvement at Harbor Island Studios—from the new roof and soundproofing to the mill and core production infrastructure—and continues to steward the studio with the long-term interests of both the community and the County in mind.
We want to acknowledge—and sincerely thank—everyone who has expressed a desire to help. That commitment matters, and it is noticed. There will be moments ahead when more direct, coordinated action is called for. For now, however, the most effective way to support Harbor Island Studios is to keep it thoughtfully front of mind with the King County Council and Executive while solutions are actively being developed.
This is not a moment to overwhelm elected officials. It is a moment for steady, respectful engagement. KCFAB and other industry stakeholders encourage community members to reach out to their King County representatives to express gratitude for past and ongoing support of Harbor Island Studios and the King County creative economy. Brief, personal messages—especially those sharing lived experiences working at Harbor Island or building a career here—are particularly impactful.
A unified voice is essential. Aligning with KCFAB’s efforts and reinforcing a single, clear message helps ensure that Harbor Island Studios continues to be understood as the vital public asset, workforce engine, and economic driver it has proven itself to be.
👉 Learn more about the current effort and how to engage constructively:

Additional calls to action will be shared as the process evolves. Right now, gratitude, clarity, and alignment are exactly what help most.
