Working with a powerful team, almost any dream can be brought to life. If you’ve made a short film before you’ll likely have spent months — even years — planning, writing, casting, and refining. But when it’s finally time to shoot, you often have just a tiny window to capture everything for the screen. For Cinder’s debut film, that was just three days. The pressure is real. One hiccup, one timing issue, and the whole thing can collapse like a house of cards. So how do you prevent that? How do you keep the vision alive when the clock is against you? The answer is the team. Making this film proved that with the right set of people, you can defy the odds and create movie magic all in the same flick of a wrist. The Departure crew was legendary. Every single person on location gave their absolute all to keep things moving forward, and without this incredible lineup of people working hard to bring the dream to life, it would have been impossible. Carpooling. Late nights. Duct tape. Energy drinks and improvisation. But the best part? Everybody felt like we were making HISTORY. So one time for an unbelievable team — and two times for a film that’s going to be more than worth every ounce of effort. 🎬✨ MORE TO COME! ##Storytellers #CreativeProcess #VisualStorytelling #MakeMovies #FilmMagic #CreatingArt #BuildingWorlds #ShortFilm #IndieFilm #IndieFilmmaking #FilmCrew #FilmSet #BTSFilm #BehindTheScenes #FilmmakersLife #OnSet #SetLife #FilmmakingProcess #DirectorLife #ProducerLife #Cinematography

@godisgrey.film has won the Jury Award for Best Short Film at the 46th @filmfestival_maxophuelspreis ! ✨ This achievement is a reflection of our incredible cast and crew, whose dedication and hard work made this film possible. This award is a celebration of each and every one of you! A special thank you to the jury members @marc_vd_bosch_mprah , @lorna_ishema and Julia Langhof. Your thoughtful laudation deeply moved us, and we are honored by your recognition of our work. Being chosen as the winner was a beautiful surprise! We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Managing Director Svenja Böttger and Program Director Theresa Winkler for giving our film a platform and creating visibility. While we deeply appreciate this award, our main goal has always been to share our message and connect with audiences—something that is often hard to achieve with short films. As a festival that extends beyond the filmmaking community, the Max-Ophüls-Prize provided the perfect space for this. The support and enthusiasm from audiences and fellow filmmakers has been truly rewarding. Thank you! Thank you @stadtwerke_sb for your sponsorship of this prize! As young filmmakers, financing a short film can be challenging, and this prize will help us continue with our upcoming projects. So thank you so much for supporting this festival and us filmmakers! We are beyond grateful that GOD IS GREY has won this special award for German Emerging Talent. Not only because it marks @jenni_the_writer ‘s directorial debut, but also because it is a project from the @hffmuenchen ’s Production Department (led by @ingo_fliess and @corinnamehner )which was filmed in London with many challenges along the way. Our deep appreciation therefore goes to @ytf.berlin , @freundeskreis_hff_muenchen and all the private donors whose financial support made this film possible!
