Hosted a beach day with my friends @_a.angeles_ & @hayfordsarchive last weekend and had a great time bringing so many people to hang out together. We’d been talking about the importance of building community + intentionally creating opportunities to connect with other people in real life, so we initially thought we’d do a small bowling hangout to bring different friend groups together. But we wanted to make things affordable and accessible, and trying to find an affordable and accessible bowling place in NYC with a group is like trying to pull teeth out of a starving hyena’s mouth, so Aaron came up with the idea for a beach volleyball day. We sent the Partiful invite to people, ended up with a ton of replies, and fast forward a few weeks and over 100 RSVPs later, we’re hosting dozens of people at the beach to hang out, play volleyball, throw a football, play spikeball, enjoy some really great, thankfully-cooperative weather, and eat some great burgers, hot dogs, and kebabs generously supplied by @nou.vibes (briefly known that day as Grill Guy). Shoutout to everyone who came through! Bringing people together and having a fun time felt really great, and I hope to get to do something like this again sometime.
