Smash burgers and paella by the award winning SUNY culinary students were a hit at the Chamber Mixer hosted by Strickland Hollow. A great crowd. A great community.

Jerry highlighted the success of the year welcoming 25 new members. Antoinette from Kings introduced her new app “45 Square” that will help you sort out your busy social calendar.

The Star Award was given to Don Statham for his work making Delhi a more lush green space.

The Holiday Mixer is coming soon. See you there!

The year is 2008, Flo Rida’s “Low” is playing in the background as you sing along 🎶 “…Applebottom jeans, boots with the fur…”. You pull up Internet Explorer to check the latest entry on one of your favorite blogs. And here it is.

😅 kidding. BUT I am writing a blog. As much as I love/love to hate social media, I think that a blog is the best way for KING’S Rustic to stay connected digitally. It’s somewhat of a middle ground between a newsletter and social media posting. Most entries will probably be pretty short but this first one has got some body.

@namipot — Namiko Ishikawa is the ceramic project of a Brooklyn-based maker from Yokohama, Japan. Captivated by the ever-changing texture of clay, she creates everything from functional tableware to sculptural forms — always exploring the balance between folk craft and contemporary design, color and shape, rough warmth and quiet precision. For the collector who hunts for the genuinely singular — this is one to know.

@oysterparty — Oyster Party, one of New York’s most beloved raw bars, is bringing the whole party up here. Fresh oysters in the open air, deep in the Catskills. We can’t think of a better way to spend a summer afternoon on a grassy knoll than slurpin’ oysties while you shop your favorite craft folks.

@secondsonvintage — Jason has all the denim grails. When we stumbled onto his collection for the first time, we were riveted. His knowledge of workwear history and denim is genuinely impressive — the kind of depth that turns a vintage wearer into a vintage collector.

@amyannart — Amy Ackerman has been surrounded by art her whole life — introduced to it by her father, she found her own voice early and never stopped. Based in Kingston, she works in watercolor and acrylic, letting each piece take her wherever it needs to go. A painter and a maker, in the truest sense of both words.

@kings_375main — Born in a small café kitchen in Franklin, NY, King’s Rustic Seed Crackers started as a one-off appetizer made with a vegan guest in mind. They were so good they never left the menu. Now they’re a standalone snack — handmade in the Catskills, baked slowly, made simply. Sunflower, sesame, chia, poppy. Delicious!
