🥂HAPPY 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!🥂 📚MY OLDER BROTHER, A FAMOUS RAPPER 📚🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 🌏Sept 29th, 2025 This remains one of my favorite projects, ever. Therefore, I predict it will remain available forever. Link in bio. I recommend purchasing directly from me for a signed copy. Any educators or people with large community libraries/spaces, hmu if you'd like to work something out! Let's celebrate 1 year by getting a copy for you, your student(s), mentees, big bros, or your holiday packages??:) In this past year, I have not done with this book, even a small fraction of what I plan to do with it for a lifetime. We don't need to know everyone's business. But there is power in a deliberate story. A necessary release. A relatable narrative. A new perspective, perhaps. I am witness and a recipient of that power. In this 30th year of my writing journey, I'm grateful for the gifts of poetry and time and belief (in self and the word), which have granted me the ability to sit down and creatively organize my honesty, joy, and pain into words people are open to hearing and reading. What an honor! 🌏💿 "My Older Brother, A Famous Rapper is a carefully made mixtape filled with color and heat. This collection aches, howls, hollers, spits, nods its head in recognition, and remembers. The poems compel the reader to look and look again, finding beauty in every corner and fall in love with the music of it." —Suzi Q. Smith, author of A Gospel of Bones (Alternating Current, 2021) 🌏💿

it’s been a year since Charlie Kirk’s death and i can’t believe “non MAGA” folks online were arguing about what to and how to hold with care this increasingly powerful losers death If you are looking for the aftermath of politicized murders you should actually give your attention and complexity to, Rodney Hinton Jr’s trial starts October 5th. In May 2025, the police murdered his son Ryan and he subsequently was accused of murder for “fatally striking a sheriff’s deputy with his vehicle”. • • • Want more poems? Track 2 - Akwaaba (Welcome to Ghana) 🇬🇭 This was the first track I recorded. I wanted to create something that would be inspiring catchy, while still being personal to me and my family. Sika is the old Ghanaian currency. It means “gold”. Ghana’s nickname is the Gold Coast. My sons name is Sikali “golden boy”. The chant is a double entendre of singing my ancestry and the song my mother used to sing to my son when he was born. At the end of the track you hear her full chant in an ode to my one and only Sikali Baakop3!! ☝🏿 To my family and friends in Ghana - me dor wo 🫶🏿 this is for you. To the diaspora - this is for you to know… AKWAABA (welcome)!!! Produced by Ishmael Moody & Tonyela Arphul Background vocals MandiE, Nhari, Tonyela Arphul, Tamara Arphul Video edited by me. Listen to the full track on my new album. ————- Listen, download and stream my new album - TONYELA now available on all platforms. I have one goal - to be at the top of the spokenword charts. Can you help me? When one Poet wins, we all win. And I’ve been putting us on worldwide for a decade. Now it’s up to you! Let’s goooooo #Ghana #explorepage #poetry #newmusic #vibe
