From spray foam to faced thermal batt and acoustic batt, we’re highlighting the different insulation methods used throughout the house in this video. The first of the rusted metal for the Ground + Sky House is UP!! Out contractor has installed the pre-weathered roof after a week of prep work, a process which we highlight in this video. We are super excited to see this material on the house for the first time. It marks an important milestone in the project, the first time one of the finish materials is installed! Twin Lakes Ground + Sky House electrical update! The house is really starting to come together, rough electrical is now going in, bringing us one step closer to the spaces becoming fully functional. As we have said, once the house is dried in and weather proofed, we’ll be able to shift our focus inside and begin bringing the interior to life. It’s exciting to see the vision becoming more tangible with each stage of construction. The windows and doors are helping define how the home will connect to its surroundings, while the work happening behind the walls is setting the foundation for everything to come. Ground + Sky House WIP Updates in Twin Lakes! Swipe to see. As seen in our last video, interior framing and rough plumbing are complete. The bathroom, kitchen, loft and meditation room are all taking shape. The roofing membrane has been installed and once windows arrive our entire interior will be weather proof! This view through the front door will eventually look at our fireplace at the far end of the house. Front porch decking and roofing membrane above are installed. Views from the meditation room out across Twin Lakes. Side deck framing is complete and decking is being installed, this view is from above in our loft! First boards on the side deck looking towards the lake. We're really excited for this particular area and the spectacular views it provides. Interior framing is complete and rough utilities are being installed. Nature constantly humbles us.

The loft view of our neighboring trees! From this window you can also see down to the lake down below. The Rocky Mountains beyond Ground + Sky. We will be sharing our design shortly for the driveway and surrounding landscape! A large dust cloud, one of our favorite natural phenomena at the lake. When the things that you’ve designed and only ever seen on paper become reality, it’s a pretty surreal moment. After months of drawings, details, and decisions, we can finally start experiencing how the house will actually feel — moving through the entry, utility spaces, meditation room, living room, loft, and the moments where the architecture speaks with its landscape. In this video we walk through the layout of the house and talk through how each room is situated; hopefully, this provides some insight into how it feels to be inside. A huge part of this project has been designing with intention — every wall, window, and view has a reason behind it.
