As a middle schooler, Jennifer moved to St. Mary’s county— a fateful occurrence that came gorgeously full-circle last week. Last Friday, Jen had the privilege of sharing Dexter’s story with the students at the Chesapeake Public Charter School 🏫📓🦀

K-5 classes at CPCS enjoyed an author visit packed with story time, video features from co-author Shelby and illustrator Liv, and an interactive exercise that highlighted each students’ unique skills!

Southern Maryland holds a very special place in our family’s hearts! Growing up, Shelby and Dexter would spend holiday breaks frolicking with friends beside the Chesapeake bay. We are especially grateful to Jen’s middle school besties (one of which being former media specialist Ms. Tepel) and Principal Imbriale for having her “back home” for this special reading.

This visit has us eager for our next school visit, so if you or someone you know is interested in scheduling an author visit for the 2026-2027 school year, please reach out 🗓️ 🫶🏻
