stockholm & gothenburg, sweden
august 5th ~ august 11th, 2025

i always knew sweden would be a highlight of the trip, anddddd……. yep! yes, without a doubt.

it was the coolest feeling to be approached by kind strangers while painting at mariaberget and generally across europe. chatting with other travellers is awesome… it’s confirmed, the people (and me) yearn for community yippee!!!!

then, two separate visits to kaggeholms slott, the main set of young royals. anyone who’s spent more than two minutes with me knows how much i love that tv show, and so visiting the various filming locations was so very special to me. after that, a train ride to gothenburg for the way out west music festival. @officialomar was vibrant as ever. seeing other yr cast members, lola young, and chappell roan all in that same day was just the wildest cherry on top.

and maybe best of all, getting to spend time with new friends. laughing, swimming, picnics by the lake and singing in the rain. sitting in our ponchos waiting for chappell to come on stage. kiri, baran, and ollie, thank you for a week i’ll never ever forget.

‘til next time sweden, my heart is so full.

a little, clipped journal entry listing what i loved about stockholm:
- size of the city
- benches & bridges
- fika!! coffees & kanelbulle
- trees trees trees
- waterways & colours
- boats, kayaks, bikes & scooters
- walkability!

how beautiful it is :)

30.04.2024 Hail to the Thief!!

What an absolutely phenomenal play. This was my first ever live Shakespeare and I couldnt have hoped for anything better. The entire show was thrilling, enrapturing, and like something fresh. The weather was stunning and my pesto mozzarella pasta was stunning.
The insane physicality of all the actors in this production was phenomenal, with the dancing not something i expected. it was beautiful, from the way Samuel Blenkins portrayed Hamlet in such an eloquent yet youthful way, to the way that Paul Hilton fully embodied Claudius in a way that made me love him and fully understand the villainy and also temderness behind the character. The portrayal of Alby Baldwin as Horatio was incredibly important to me, and I would love to see more interpretations of Shakespeare including more subtly queer coded characters. I loved the portrayal of family dynamics and relationships as a whole, and the portrayal of OPHELIA my beloved!! Ami Tredrea brought this strong yet ethereal atmospherr to her character, and i love how this adaption portrayed her as a whole. The set deisgn was beautiful, with the coats at the beginning, falling at the end (i do hope the last coat that fell late didnt hurt anyone), and the projected images, the brutalist feel. The use of radiohead's music was on point with the show, the band were wonderful and even from afar i could still appreciate everything about them! All of the work that goes on behind and in front of the scenes is wonderful and it was an incredibke production. I would love to watch it again, so I can truly appreciate everyone. Overall a 10/10 performance, made me cry!!
