The Fynbos Gonzo 13 Peaks Challenge

5 Saturdays. 13 Peaks. One Epic Personal Challenge.
Starts Sat, 25 July - Signal Hill

The 13 Peaks Challenge was born from a notebook doodle — @ryansandes linking up his favourite peaks across Table Mountain and the Cape Peninsula into one epic route. No entry fee. No official route. No prizes. Only an official 13 Peaks badge handed to you by @ryansandes himself.

Starting 25 July, we're taking on the full @13_peaks Challenge as a community — broken into 5 Saturday segments, so anyone can join the journey. Together we'll cover the peaks in order, from Signal Hill all the way south to Chapmans Peak & Muizenberg Peak, before looping back north to finish where we started.

Massive thanks to @fynbos.money for backing this entire challenge with us, Saturday after Saturday. Their kiff team suggested this idea and we all decided to do it!

THE JOURNEY
Segment 1 - Sat 25 July - Signal Hill, Lions Head & Maclear's Beacon
Segment 2 - Sat 1 Aug - Groot Kop, Judas Peak, Little Lions Head & Suther Peak
Segment 3 - Sat 8 Aug - Chapmans Peak & Noordhoek Peak
Segment 4 - Sat 15 Aug - Muizenberg Peak & Constantia Berg
Segment 5 - Sat 22 Aug - Klassenkop & Devils Peak, finishing back at Signal Hill

HOW IT WORKS
-No sign-up. Anyone can just rock up and join, every Saturday.
-Record your runs to Strava or your watch/phone
-Peaks are summited in order, 1 through 13.
-Missed a Saturday? Catch it up during the week, whenever suits you.
-Distance options every week so you can choose your challenge - shorter route options available if you're not chasing the full badge.
-Self-navigational. No team leaders, no pace groups. Run at your own pace, with your Gonzo crew alongside or on the same trails

Lace up. Put on your brave face. Let's go get all 13.

IMPORTANT NOTES
-Don't be a chop, and keep safe
-This is not a race or an event. This is a personal challenge, done together, every Saturday.
-You need to be self-sufficient - nutrition, hydration & appropriate trail running gear for every segment.
-WSAR Western Cape Emergency Phone: 021 937 0300
-You are engaging in all Gonzo activities voluntarily and entirely at your own risk.
