Another Italy retreat 💖
And I’m out of words, again.

Early mornings with the sun rising over the hills and everything being still and magical. People doing their practise and birdsong. Massages, kakis, coming over to each other’s rooms like teenagers. Conversations, sharing and meditations I wished would go on for hours more.

We harvested olives, visited Italian mountains and played in the Mediterranean waves. Inexplicable healing took place (for instance, my arm which had been in a sling for five weeks just stopped hurting altogether), and
most importantly: there were people believing in people.

Things weren’t really different from last year except some activities, but I was different. And so, it was a whole new experience, because everywhere there were little lessons. At an initial glance they were quiet and very easy to miss. Just tiny stars in the corners of a moment. But I collected them carefully, and ever since coming home I’ve spent my time weaving them together. I’m not yet done and still uncertain of what the result will be, but the fabric is quite magical.

Last year’s retreat changed my life because it had this golden light so forceful I couldn’t escape it. This year’s retreat wasn’t as obvious in its teachings, but the more I’ve weaved, the more apparent it’s become that the golden light is still equally forceful. To be frank, I think it’s even brighter now than before, because what started out as little stars have with the weaving become a whole radiant night sky.

Hearts speaking through hands; hearts speaking through actions.

And honestly, I’m a little scared of the light because it’s so persistent. While qualifying as one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever experienced, it’s also unapologetic, challenging and requires bravery. And once again its like I’ve seen something and now can’t unsee it.

So yes, I’m out of words. Because every star is a sun and I so desperately want them to know.

Deeply grateful, again, to everyone who was there and part of it. You’re the reason I’m going and the reason I’m practising. Le mille e un grazie 💛🧡🩷💜

Italy 🍇🌺💖🧡☀️🌾🌿
Walks among the rolling hills, sweet grapes, gorgeous morning classes with the most stunning view, foraging wild plants, watching mountains, burning sage, bathing in the salty ocean, amazing afternoon classes with chanting, pranayama and meditation, line drying laundry in the sun, conversations, sharing, laughter, sunrises and sunsets from wonderland, vulnerability, olive groves, stillness in the moon light, excursions to town and a castle, rosemary and ginger tea, that squeezed sound that escape one’s lips when everything is overwhelmingly beautiful, bird song, coherence and a deep feeling of gratefulness.

Havn’t yet understood what this retreat actually was and did, but it was slightly otherworldly. So many moments were sort of linked together by a golden light. And I think it did something to me, gave me something I didn’t expect.

My deepest thanks to everyone who was there and part of it. The gold wouldn’t shine without you 💛🧡🩷💜
