Doing custom embroidery in front of an audience wasn’t on my bingo card, yet here I am! And the biggest surprise, I’m truly loving it! Creating custom details in the moment for you all is so fun! I love getting to connect with each person and hear the story behind the word or symbol they want embroidered on their new denim or shirt pocket. But I was nervous to start doing something I love so much in a public space and having people watch me, every time I get a knot in my thread or need to redraw the horseshoe you asked for because my first attempt is a little funky. It’s a weird thing to worry about making little mistakes in front of people all the while those of you watching have only said incredibly kind words to me, praising my craftsmanship, thanking me for keeping the dying art of handmade things alive, sharing in your own attempts to hand stitch over the years and continuing to want me to poke holes in all your clothes! You all encourage me and I’m so grateful to be able to share something I love, live! I can’t wait for the next event to meet more of you and hear about the special thing I get to stitch for you! Special thanks for @luci_stylist for creating the best events and asking me to do this! And thank you to the whole @anthropologie team for being amazing, as always! ❤️ #embroidery #liveembroidery #customembroidery #handmade #handmadegoods #dyingart #custom #anthro #anthropologie #stylist #bluejeansgogreen
