" Memories, we'll leave them behind
Many things we can't control
I hope you know it's better to try
'Cause one day we'll run out of time "

Over the past four years I've had the privilege to explore my own research topics, run film crews, work with incredible filmmakers and scholars, bring my own independent film to life, and so much more. There are moments of doubt (as for all of us) but I am so lucky to have had the opportunity to have been part of these experiences.

I spent a large section of my college career disconnected from my department, finally, senior year I found my safe space. I can't begin to express how grateful I am for each friend I met during "Sensitive Information", and how sad I am to have found them so late.
To all of my friends outside of MACS, I love you all dearly and I truly don't know what I would have done without you🩷

There was a moment during graduation where I allowed myself to feel the reality of what I'd be missing once I left. I may not be one to sing the school song or do the chant, but I feel that pride towards my departments, my friends, my community.

Thanks for everything,

Diyosa Leialoha Kubiszewski Funk
