![Meet @mimi_ozz, Canadian-born, New York-based indie rock/Americana artist whose new album, 'Growing Pains,' is out now ✨ A self-produced, 7-song body of work recorded in both Toronto and NYC, 'Growing Pains' is Oz's third solo album and flirts with a myriad of styles and genres, seamlessly shifting from Kate Bush-like buoyancy, to brass-tinged soul-pop, to psychedelic piano rock, each belying the ocean of talent and daring that Mimi Oz embodies. Under The Radar noted, "[Oz] moves effortlessly between crystalline beauty and searing rage ... a stomping, raging new effort, dripping with raw emotion."
'Growing Pains' aims to “consolidate Oz’s talent into a caravan of styles and emotions, melding elements of soul, rock n’ roll, and jazz to her ever-growing sonic palette. Throughout the album, Oz tethers even the most oblique lyrics to the current socio-political climate, with cascading themes of alienation, yearning, and pain, all of which hint at the degrees of Oz’s own empathy. The album rolls up elements of the past fifty years of music and imbuing them with the detritus of modern America: the tension of a hostile political climate, the claustrophobia of the pandemic, and the ways both engendered a culture of fear and abuse.”](https://s4.imginn.com/622876974_18102258271876716_5535441172748109246_n.jpg?t51.82787-15/622876974_18102258271876716_5535441172748109246_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_e35_p1179x1179_tt6&_nc_cat=109&ig_cache_key=MjY5MTA0MTM3NzI1MzYzNTUzMw%3D%3D.3-ccb7-5&ccb=7-5&_nc_sid=58cdad&efg=eyJ2ZW5jb2RlX3RhZyI6IkZFRUQueHBpZHMuMTM4OC5zZHIucmVndWxhcl9waG90by5DMyJ9&_nc_ohc=SUMKJrhcED4Q7kNvwHwLAOe&_nc_oc=AdpnEIjDn0fl9tK8b2g-BalbOwXmSQPIqj11SrxlnpVWYzz00hPx2skwr7DNjJK_fx0ddav-aKBjwf9bSbhqVOuu&_nc_ad=z-m&_nc_cid=0&_nc_zt=23&_nc_ht=scontent-den2-1.cdninstagram.com&_nc_gid=d6Ffyj5zRTkQ4piBqu1u5w&_nc_ss=7a20f&oh=00_AQMaWoSpUOq6lK4AXD7EMmE8H6Hb13Zu1NACTV0YtIe57g&oe=6AE5262D)
