August was quite the month for me. I entered my third decade of life, and with that, I ran 30 trail miles. Training for my self-made ultra marathon was difficult and time consuming, but I'm proud of myself for committing to the distance and (sort of) committing to training and increasing my mileage! Why sort of? Because I still didn't follow a training "plan" per-se, but I had some form of consistency, which is a win for me. :) The run itself was a journey. I had so many friends and loved ones join me on my day, which was such a lovely surprise. Some people saw me off at the start, some ran with me for a mile or two, some met me at my aid stations, and some met me at the finish line!! It was so special, and I feel lucky to have so many supporting people in my life.

I want to give a special thanks to Karina, who has been an inspiration and motivator for me in my trail running journey. She introduced me to trail running 4 years ago, and from the moment I said "I think I want to do 30 for 30," she was 100% supportive. She gave me all the advice and guidance I asked for, and even joined me on 18.5 miles of the run! Having her with me was so great for the last several miles, cause let me tell ya, I was SLOGGING. Yet, we sang and listened to lizzo and she helped make sure I wouldn't get knicked by Strava for *basically* doing 30 miles but having only 29.9 logged 😜 THANK YOU KARINA!!! 🤍🤍

And finally, a big thank you to my sweetheart Alex for dealing with all of my training runs, agreeing to be my aid station guy, running the first 7.5 miles with me, and endlessly supporting me and my crazy schedule. 🤍🤍

NEW PODCAST: @kjhust grew up splashing in the creeks and rivers along Minnesota's North Shore of #lakesuperior. While working an outdoor job based near the #lochsariver in #idaho Huston discovered a passion for whitewater paddling. This passion would lead her to some some of the best paddling destinations across the nation, including multiple trips down the #grandcanyon.

Kelcy moved back to #minnesota recently to be closer to family. Connections to family and paddling make this story one podcast listeners won't soon forget. | This episode is sponsored by: @borderlandlodge | @loonsnest.coffee | @canoecopia |
