Strive Counseling Services | 2025 Reflection ✨

2025 was a year of growth, resilience, and impact at Strive Counseling Services. Our incredible team served clients across schools, our office, and throughout the community—meeting people where they are with compassion and purpose.

This year we launched powerful new programs, including on-site Restorative yoga with licensed therapist Ashley Shivers, a grief support group, and a trauma-informed program delivered in a local middle school. We also expanded access to care by contracting with Dr. French to provide psychiatric services, strengthening continuity, quality, and accessibility for our clients.

Our work was recognized by the Birmingham Business Journal, NASW-Alabama, and the Ricky Smiley Morning Show, allowing us to amplify conversations around mental health and healing.

Community remains at the heart of Strive. From partnering with the Salvation Army in Bessemer, to providing food support and hosting a holiday coat drive for children, we showed up with purpose. We ended the year with an amazing team retreat—rested, renewed, and ready.

Demopolis celebrated one year!
Under the leadership of Crystal Mullen-Johnson, Strive expanded educational contracts to supervise counseling and social work students—supporting the next generation through clinical training and mentorship.

Proud partners with:
Herzing University | Alabama A&M University | UAB Counseling and Social Work Program
✅ ACES-approved to offer CEUs for social workers

Looking ahead to 2026: 3 new programs launching soon—stay connected!

I am proud to serve this community. Through it all, we remained resilient—and we will continue to Strive.

I grew up as a Coach's daughter...🏀🏈

I spent long hours at the gym, on the sidelines, and in the bleachers watching my dad pour everything into his players and something he truly loved.

One thing I will always remember is how he was so involved at every practice and preparing for every game by running the track with his team, lifting in the weight room, and getting right in the middle of it all.

He always said he was a player's Coach...iykyk

That's the same philosophy I lead with at Ellie Cate Home. I am so passionate about having an active role in every step of the process of bringing our interior design clients' dream homes to life.

I'm also so thankful to have a supportive and trusting team to work along side me every step of the way to achieve great success.

I'm no longer on the sidelines but right there in the game and I would not change it in anyway.

If you're looking for a fantastic design team to help make your dream home a reality, contact us at elliecatehome.com to enter your winning home season!

|| Relaxed. Elegant. Living ||

There's this feeling of calm that hushes over an entire large space when everything finally aligns and flows with ease.

When you're working with an open living room and kitchen floor plan, that can seem a bit challenging to create.

We find the secret to achieving that desired harmony is to design the space a 1 large area rather than 2 separate spaces.

When our clients have an open floor plan, we select each styling and furniture item to complement each other with ease without being "matchy, matchy".

We also like to consider the natural traffic flow and how to create movement patterns for all guests that won't feel obstructed.

The key is for you to be able to experience such a large area as if you can't tell where 1 space ends and the other begins.
