Ah, details. This month’s featured artists are both masters of detail. From far away you see a beautiful painting and exquisite Tamari balls, but step closer and the details begin to pop. Meticulously applied color, shading, and weaving… yes, art is wonderful on screen, but in-person sparks the awe factor. Please stop by to see @kk.gaul Kay Gaul and @three_strands_handwovens Rebekah Cadorette creations, and sign up for our new emailed newsletter at www.portTownsendgallery.com Open Daily 10am to 5pm www.porttownsendgallery.com 715 Water Street #porttownsendgallery #artistcollective #artgallery#porttownsendwa #ptcreativedistrict #porttownsend #handmade #fineart #artgallery #artcollectors #acrylicrealism #tamariballs

Meet Ember 🐾 – one of CVAR’s beloved mascots and the 🫶🏽 dog of our director, Sara. She’s often spotted zooming around the rescue with her bestie Willow (swipe for more cuteness). Ember’s story is one of resilience, second chances, and the kind of love that defines what we do here at CVAR. It’s no wonder she stole Sara’s heart—and the hearts of everyone who meets her. Her image was even used by the talented Kay Gaul to create the artwork for this year’s For The Love Of Animals gala! We are blown away at Kay's ability to capture the spirit of Ember! 😮🐶 (And that’s not all—another incredible local artist has created a special piece featuring Ember that we will debut at one of our upcoming events.) Want to hear more about Ember and other inspiring rescue stories? Mark your calendars for April 26 and join us at the 2025 Gala @quilcene.lantern 🐕🎶🎟️ Ticket link in Bio! #CVAR #CenterValleyAnimalRescue #RescueDog #AnimalRescue #ArtForAnimals #AdoptDontShop #PNWRescue #SecondChances #FTLOA #Fortheloveofanimals

The Bunker: Free Teen Art Program at Northwind School of the Arts is a class session this week, taught by the delightful and radiant Corinne Humphrey! I will be there with Kay Gaul as well. Looking forward to seeing our creative teens. Here's some info about the class on Friday: "What's on your mind?" Explore Conceptual Art with Corinne Humphrey. Conceptual Art--where the idea or message is more important than the technical or aesthetic aspects of the art. It's a relationship between words and objects, between language and meaning in art. Art need not be beautiful, fall into a category or follow a technique—it's an open-ended question meant to make you feel something or simply communicate. We'll use color, texture, shapes and words to convey humor or meaning.
