This is our home, and I want to see it thrive. That means welcoming investment, supporting growth, and working toward housing people can afford.

As assessor, I’ll work with city and county leaders to help move Albuquerque and Bernalillo County forward.

Drivers traveling through New Mexico are continuing to deal with the closure of four interstate rest areas months after renovation projects began. The closures along I-40 East of Albuquerque have reduced available truck parking statewide, with nearly 100 semi-truck drivers at times forced to spend the night on highway on-ramps and off-ramps to comply with federal rest requirements. The New Mexico Department of Transportation says work continues at the affected locations, which remain closed in late October.

Cleanup responsibility along Albuquerque’s major interstate corridors is shifting from the city back to the state. The New Mexico Department of Transportation has ended a cleanup agreement that had been in place for more than a decade, covering areas along I-25 and I-40. City officials say rising costs tied to trash removal, graffiti cleanup, and encampments pushed expenses to around two million dollars a year. NMDOT says it is working on a transition plan and will oversee future cleanup efforts on the highways. @kkobradio

New Mexico Department of Justice Attorney General Raul Torrez has filed a federal lawsuit against two longtime associates of Jeffrey Epstein, alleging they helped facilitate and financially benefit from Epstein’s sex trafficking operation.

The lawsuit names Epstein’s former attorney, Darren Indyke, and accountant, Richard Kahn, along with the Estate of Jeffrey Epstein and the 1953 Trust, which controls assets tied to the estate.

According to the complaint, state investigators allege Indyke and Kahn knowingly used their positions to help finance, manage, and conceal activities connected to Epstein’s trafficking operation. The lawsuit further claims both men held key leadership roles overseeing financial accounts and authorizing transactions tied to Epstein’s network.

State officials allege Indyke handled the transfer of ownership of Zorro Ranch, Epstein’s New Mexico property, to an Epstein-controlled company in 2011. The complaint also alleges Indyke received nearly $16 million from Epstein, while Kahn received more than $10 million between 2011 and 2019.

The lawsuit was filed under the federal Trafficking Victims Protection Act and the New Mexico Racketeering Act. The state is asking the court to:
Prevent estate payments to Indyke and Kahn while the litigation is ongoing.

Restrict their ability to authorize or receive distributions from the estate.

Declare that both men engaged in racketeering and trafficking-related activities.

Require them to divest interests connected to Epstein’s estate.

Award compensatory damages, punitive damages, restitution, and disgorgement of assets to survivors.
Attorney General Torrez said the legal action is intended to hold accountable not only Epstein but also those who allegedly enabled and profited from his criminal enterprise.

The New Mexico Department of Justice said its criminal investigation remains ongoing. @kkobradio

And… That’s a wrap!! @kkobradio thank you all so much for a well run and event filled evening. By the looks of the event from the people enjoying their time, and the prize is being won, it shows the time, effort, and passion behind it all.

New Mexico Farm & Livestock Bureau and Bernalillo County farm and livestock bureau are proud to support the efforts of this event and look forward to working with KKOB radio more in the future to help share the word of agriculture and connect real people around the state to real farmers and ranchers who helped to grow and produce the foods we eat and the things we use every single day.
