Tonya Boyd-Cannon presents ALTAR CALL: The Path. The Journey. The Peace. ✨

A healing journey through Tonya’s @tonyaboydcannon experience growing up as a preacher’s kid, ALTAR CALL draws on familial memories and her life as a secular vocalist, musician, songwriter, and educator. The music moves through gospel, blues, jazz, and soul, exploring how generational knowledge passes from elder to youth through the traditions of griots and quiltmakers.

Special guests include New Orleans civil rights activist and community leader Mama Dodie Smith and one of the “New Orleans Four” school integration pioneers, Mama Leona Tate. They’ll be joined by New Orleans musicians Steve Lands, Darrin Thomas, Caleb Armstrong, Donald Ramsey, and Kalif Brown, alongside rising youth artists.

Join us Friday, November 6 at 7 PM, at the André Cailloux Center for Performing Arts & Cultural Justice @accneworleans All ages are welcome!

💫 Arrive early for the cocktail reception and quilts viewing, with an artist meet-and-greet mixer following the performance 🤍 Dress in white, ecru, or winter white
