And of course last but not least as part of the August Opus as we enter September with a horrific heat wave that has literally no suggestion of autumn about it whatsoever— @dickjrandthevolunteers at @mercuryloungeny in NYC! Queueing up with friends is a time honored tradition for these shows; thankfully it was in A Time Before Heat Advisories.

There is NOTHING like Con family! I missed a few. I’ll catch them tonight or next time! ❤️❤️

I came to NJ as a last minute decision to be with my people and get my therapy. It worked! So very very grateful for this family!

I love seeing my friends at Supernatural conventions: Instax edition! It is my greatest joy getting to know these lovely people better each time we get together in these cities to see our favourite band(s) and be enmeshed in our favourite show.

A second friend appreciation post. When i say that 90% of why I go to these cons now is about the friends, this is what I mean. All of these people mean something special to me! I can't see them often, but when we get together it's like no time has passed. ❤️❤️

My favorite thing about these con weekends are the friends I've made along the way. From California, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Ohio, Virginia, and so many more... even England and Spain. When we are here we can be together again! These are my people. These are my family. These are my true reset!❤️❤️

Yesterday marked the 20th anniversary of the first episode of Supernatural! And I’ve been thinking of what to say about it… I could, as is abundantly obvious by my past posts of the last few days (never mind several months) showcase the highlights of my conventions—the many hugs from my favourites, the band pics, the ops, etc—but what Supernatural has brought me is so much more than these interactions. In the fandom we talk about #spnfamily. It comes from the beloved Bobby Singer quote—“Family don’t end with blood.” Supernatural is very much a show about found family, and the fandom prides itself on carrying that theme and that ethos into our spaces. Through convention events, through my trips to see the bands perform, and even just through existing on the Internet, I have met so many wonderful people. And many of these wonderful people have become friends. I don’t have pictures with everyone, but I wanted to post the ones that I do in tribute. Supernatural has given me a cherished narrative and beloved characters. It has given me this fandom, with the conventions and the concerts and the fanfiction and the online presence. But it has also given me ✨friends✨ through this family we form, and I am endlessly grateful for that.

At this time last week, I was standing in the freezing cold outside the @exit_in in Nashville with a wee contingent, waiting to see @thestationbreaks and #dickjrandthevolunteers! Protip: line dancing will keep you warm! No regrets.
