When Enfamil sends a care package to the wife and you gotta announce to the whole neighborhood that nobody in here is pregnant. Nobody. Not her. Not me. Not the fish. Don’t put that curse on me.

Jack’s officially in the gifted and talented program next year! Not sure how a kid with a dad like his pulled that off… but then again, he does have his mom’s brain. Proud of our little man!

I’ve hit some big milestones in life and felt proud every time, but nothing compares to the pride of watching your kid work hard and succeed.

Olivia, this is all you. No one can take it away from you. You put in the work, pushed through the incredible obstacles and made it happen. I’ll always be your biggest fan. I love you more than you’ll ever know. Way to go, kid!

Olivia,

You’re 18 today. I don’t even know how that’s possible. Youve grown from a certified Gorilla Pizza, to an amazing young lady.

I still see you in the passenger seat of my old green truck, playing the fish game, singing Smile by Kirk Franklin like you had nothing but joy in your heart. You were always happy to see me, even when I couldn’t give you the stability you deserved. I’ve carried that with me. Still do. But those weekends with you were everything to me.

We really did grow up together. You went from this little girl who told me everything to this strong, smart, stubborn young woman who still calls me when life gets heavy. And no matter how much time passes or how far you go, you always come back for a hug. I hope you always do.

I know these last couple years have been tough. You’ve been through a lot. And you kept going. You’re loyal. You work hard. You’ve got this fire in you that people lean on, even if they don’t always say it out loud. I see it. I admire it.

If you remember anything I’ve ever said, remember this. When you can’t control anything else…

I love you, I’m proud of you. We made it.

Love,

Dad

I finished the day with a 540 squat, 369 bench, and 575 deadlift(not shown) for a total of 1494. More importantly, I learned a ton today and will definitely be competing again next spring.

Thanks to everyone who got me here.

@timberwolfcrossfit for helping with training
@twincitiesortho for getting me back after meniscus surgery
@flackothecutter and @saintscoastbarbershop for being the best barber and barbershop in town. Made me look good on meet day.

Most importantly @klacheney for sacrificing a lot to help me train.
