The reveal is the moment I wait for✨

Until then, the wedding has existed in floor plans, design decks, material samples, and conversations. I can envision the finished space long before it exists, but this is the first time my clients can step inside it. They can touch it, smell it, move through it, and feel the atmosphere we created for them.

No two Lovelace Design weddings look the same. Each one is shaped by the couple, their families, the setting, and the stories they share with me. There may be a familiarity in how I approach a space, but never a formula.

Seeing the design finally come to life, especially when it looks exactly as I once imagined it, will always be one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

Building a wedding on private property begins long before anything beautiful arrives.

The first property visit is where we determine not only where the celebration will take place, but how the land needs to function. Guest arrival, vendor access, ground conditions, construction, power and the flow between each part of the wedding must all be considered before the design can be fully developed.

For you, this means your wedding is not being planned through a series of disconnected decisions. The property, logistics and design are developed together under one complete production plan.

The result is a property that does more than hold your wedding. It supports the entire experience, from the way your guests arrive to the way the celebration unfolds.✨💕

The third and final cake. @misshayleypaige knew that she would be cutting the cake in the toile dress that she designed so she had me create a cake that matched! The board with the lights in them were custom made for me by @right_touch_engravers and made the tiers look like they were floating. The edible printing was done by @whimsysnv and shipped directly to Wonderland Bake Shop. My friend @lesliesleesman was able to format the toile so that it could be easily printed as a repeating pattern. Carissa at @wonderland_bakeshop did the edible printing application. In fact she did it so well it was really hard to find the seams! Final shoutout goes to @momentsbybellamonroe for the gift of the acrylic letters. They were perfection! #wedding #weddingcake #dreamscometrue

To be fair, it was 11 dresses for the wedding weekend and 8 dresses on the wedding day.

Which, upon reflection, does seem like a lot. Anyway…

HAYLEY & CONRAD
What a dreamy and spectacular weekend in California celebrating @misshayleypaige and @conradlouis ’s love story!

6 months of planning and designing, 3 days of festivities, 11 dress changes, 30,000 stems of florals, over 20 vendors and suppliers, and a lifetimes worth of memories! This was absolutely one we won’t ever forget!

So incredibly thankful for the immaculate vendor team who made this weekend possible!

The theme here was Cinderella!

The cake was designed to matchHayley's ceremony dress.

The fondant was colored to match and then embossed with a special roller made by the amazing @cakesbyangelamorrison 😍

The birds took days to create!!! Each feather was hand-cut and individually pressed to give it texture. (there will be another video showing the whole process). The birds were created on 18 gauge wire (it was the thinnest I could go and still hold up the birds) so I knew that the wire would fit when they were added to the cake.

The birds were made in PA and transported to CA in my carryon! I have never been more nervous about packing something in my life!!! 😬

While the cake was baked, filled, frosted and assembled in the @wonderland_bakeshop I had to take it back to my bungalow so i could work on the placement of the wires. I did not cover the wires with the fondant until I was back at the bake shop the next morning. The cake was stored overnight in a box in the bungalow refrigerator that was completely empty and spotless.

Each loop and lace for the corset was hand-cut and individually placed on the cake. The bow was made at the shop and kept there to dry overnight.

When it was time we transported all of the cakes to the @missioninnweddings and began the process of placing them and setting them up.

Shout out again to @wonderland_bakeshop for all of their help. It took a team to set all three of these up. #weddingcakes #dreamscometrue

This cake nearly caused me to have a mental breakdown. 🤣 And I’m not even exaggerating.

The glitter was added Friday, but when I put the cake in the refrigerator, I pushed it back too far and it came in contact with the evaporator “downspout”…and got wet.

**Fondant + water = BAD. Very, very bad. 😳**

Saturday morning, I started adding the appliqués and watched in horror as they began sliding down the cake. 😭

I walked out to the parking lot, had a COMPLETE meltdown and called my sissy @jessiemacdonald1119. After confirming I wasn’t driving on California highways while hysterical 🤣, she talked me off the ledge and then kicked my butt back inside to FIX IT. ❤️

And this is where the amazing people at @wonderland_bakeshop came to the rescue.

Alfonso headed out looking for more glitter, FaceTiming me from the store so I could choose it. I scraped down the cake while their baker Brook made new appliqués using the gorgeous mold and cutters from @cakesbyangelamorrison.

By the time Alfonso returned, we were ready to redo the glitter and appliqués and head to @missioninnweddings for setup.

When I say I could NEVER have done this without the people at Wonderland Bake Shop, I mean it. They took what could have been a major **CAKE-TASTROPHE** and turned it into a beautiful win. 💕🙌

And the crazy part? **The end result was BETTER than the original** and became the perfect platform for the incredible custom unicorn and dragon toppers from @simitandsalsa3dshop. 🦄🐉✨

Jessie, Alfonso, Brook and everyone at @wonderland_bakeshop—**THANK YOU.** I will never forget how you showed up for me when I needed you. 💕

Before we get to the cake pictures, I need to give the BIGGEST shoutout to the incredible owners of @wonderland_bakeshop , Carissa Baca and Alfonso Contreras! ❤️

All the baking and design skills in the world wouldn’t have mattered if I didn’t have a licensed bakery in California willing to open its doors to me.

Two years ago, Carissa and Alfonso purchased what was then a cupcake shop and have since renamed, rebranded, and completely transformed the direction of the business.

And then Carissa got a phone call from a complete stranger 2,700 miles away that basically went:

“Hi, I’m Vanessa. I own a cake business in Pennsylvania, I have the opportunity to make a wedding cake for a world-renowned bridal designer in September…and I need a licensed bakery to work in. Any chance you’d let me use yours?”

She said YES. 🥹

And just like that, the wheels were in motion.

There are people who help you along the way—and then there are people who make the dream possible in the first place. Carissa and Alfonso were those people for me. ❤️ Thank you both so very much! #dreamscometrue #bakeshop #vanessarosscakes #wedding #weddingcakes
