We’re happy to share Ferdinand Dölberg’s participation in “Ich bin in der Rückkopplung – Die Klasse Thomas Zipp”, currently on view at Grisebach in Berlin.

The exhibition brings together Thomas Zipp and artists from his former class at the Universität der Künste Berlin, returning to a collaboration that first took place at Grisebach in 2017. At the time, the class transformed the exhibition space on Fasanenstraße into a temporary campsite, developing works specifically for the site. This year’s presentation revisits this particular constellation in memory of Thomas Zipp, who passed away unexpectedly in spring 2026.

Go see!: In the @taz.die_tageszeitung , our friend and supporter Hilka Dirks writes very aptly about the @klassezipp exhibition at @grisebach_auctions , which was curated by our most recent @worksonskin artist, @taniaelstermeyer , and features not only works by Kennet Lekko but also many pieces by friends of the institution such as Fee Kürten, Andi Fischer, Kurt von Bley, Lars Fischer, Margalit Cutler, and others. On view through October 8.

When you start studying at an art college, your expectations and reality often diverge sharply. Everything is more bureaucratic, your classmates are usually more well-behaved and ambitious than you expected, and deadlines are taken more seriously than you thought. But if you were studying at Berlin’s UdK in 2017, there was one class that lived up to everything you’d imagined an art college would be.

Actually, whenever something was provocative, interesting, or at least hilarious, and you asked where it came from, the answer was always: Zipp’s class. The punk concert? Zipp’s class. The so-called Popkorn Brothers with their cars, films, and performances? Zipp’s class. Something to do with the police? Class Zipp. Just recently, he and his students had been camping in military tents in the courtyard of the Faculty of Fine Arts. (...) When Thomas Zipp—not only a dedicated professor but, of course, also a successful artist—passed away suddenly and far too young this spring, the grief was profound among students and alumni alike. It was his artistic assistant, Tania Elstermeyer, who approached the auction house. The result was an exhibition as a tribute to their mentor. “I Am in the Feedback Loop—The Thomas Zipp Class” is the title of the group exhibition, which this time, however, can be viewed in the basement of Villa Grisebach on Fasanenstraße in Charlottenburg.
