Poppers...be they the hollow body frog variety from @spro.usa or the hard body Skitter Pop from @rapalacanada there is just no denying that smallmouth in the Kawartha Lakes love them! #poppers #smallmouth #kawarthalakes

Change of scenery today as I hopped over to the Kawartha Lakes to see about some crappie. The water was high and cold so slow was the name of the game. Not many fish found, but some quality mixed in made the morning a little warmer. Marabou under a fixed float from @coolwatersrunnin made the cold weather tolerable. Head over to @gagnonsports to stock up now. #crappiefishing #kawarthalakes #gagnonsports #marabou

What I have learned is that there is a bait keeper built for every occasion. When I am fishing my @anglerschoice soft plastics I want a sturdy holder that will keep my baits pinned in place. When you fish a small, 2" paddletail like the @keitechusa ones I have been using you need a small bait keeper that does a great job as well. Thankfully the good folks over at @vmchooks have just what you need to get the job done. You can pick them up over at @gagnonsports now, in time for panfish and walleye season! #gagnonsports #vmchooks #gofishing

As I get ready for pike, walleye, and bass season, I realised that I needed a spinning rod that could handle everything from small crankbaits to the flukes I want to target bass with.

Over at @north_gta_bass_anglers tackle swap I found what I was looking for and managed to swap out a rod that didn't see much use over the last year.

The @daiwa_usa Kage paired with a @daiwacanada Fuego LT will be more than enough to pin and bring those big ones in!

The @rapalacanada Rapstack 3600 Open Foam Tackle Box is perfect for those who are looking for storage options that show the various colour patterns of their lures but also keep the hooks secure and not tangling with others as normally happens in other tackle trays.

In this box I have my go to ice fishing kit for jumbo perch on Lake Simcoe, which includes @williamslures Ice Jigs, @vmchooks Tingler spoons, @rapala Jigging Raps and Ultralight Ripping Raps, and @slab_grabbers Drainpipe series of spoons.

You can pick up these boxes and lures over at @gagnonsports in Oshawa, with many more deals to be had during their Black Friday event!

In fishing sometimes you have to expect the unexpected. While throwing a @spro.usa Flappin Frog in what I thought was largemouth water, this tank of a smallmouth crushed the offering. Fortunately the @daiwausa Tatula combo and 50lbs @berkleyfishing X9 braid was up to the challenge and I brought her in after quite the tussle. Just when you think you have seen it all..you learn something new.
