This show was extremely symbolic for me. It was this time last year where i was going through a breakup and got accepted into my first show, discovering how my art could truly heal me. Whilst hosting this show my home life became quite hard as my parents didn’t support the work i was creating. But, i know that my work has helped me process things very important to me. My life’s mission isn’t to create easy chewable art, i want it to have depth. The things i’ve experience have not been PG so why should my work be?

The actual night i felt so much love as it really was a struggle to go ahead with everything going on. I’m so grateful to these people: @eyefleur, being my rock through it all and helping me whenever it was. @zoemcgarry_, for mentally supporting me through it all and helping me bounce ideas of you. @calebskater, @lilyrosecash and @jorjarose, for helping me create the zines even though it was your guys first show.

The idea of spotless came to me while i was going through therapy realising I lost my innocence as a young girl for things I couldn’t control. I grew up and expressed what I experienced through my work and got shamed. The taint it left on me affected my dating life and i wasn’t spotless anymore. Growing up in a christian home highlighted how women were supposed to be seen as pure.

But despite all these challenges i’m so extremely thankful for the turn out. Never did i think my first show would have the reaction it did.

I couldn’t have done it by myself so i cannot take full credit. I’m so thankful for my creative community who has kept me afloat during this time. Everyone’s work was gorgeous. Safe to say you will be seeing another love bug show very soon!
