🇲🇾 2026 MALAYSIA SCAM ALERT - Save this before you fly!

#Malaysia is SAFE (low risk) but these 10 scams happen daily at KLIA / KL / islands:

1. TAXI #SCAM - Most common
Touts BEFORE official counter quote RM150-250. Real fixed fare KLIA>KL is RM75-90.
DO: Go to official prepaid counter INSIDE hall or use Grab.

2. FAKE MDAC - NEW 2026
MDAC is 100% FREE. Fake Google ads charge USD10-80.

3. QR CODE SCAM
5,134 cases, RM28.6M lost Jan-June 2026. Fake QR on parking slips / menus / counters = fake bank login.
DO: Never scan slip on car. Check payee name before pay.

4. #FAKE LTA TOLL SMS - Targets SG drivers
After roaming in MY you get SMS from "LTA" unpaid toll. Link steals card. 10 cases $24k lost.
DO: LTA never sends links. Block "LTA". Check OneMotoring only.

5. GOLD BRACELET / MONK
Gives you bracelet/token then demands money.
DO: Don't take it. Walk away.

6. JET SKI / SCOOTER
Return bike, they say you damaged it, demand cash.
DO: Video EVERY scratch before ride.

7. PETALING ST & FOOD
#Tourist price 2-3x. Some Nasi Kandar no price tag.
DO: Ask price first. Haggle to 1/3.

8. ISLAND BOATS
Cheap boats to Perhentian/Redang/Langkawi, no life jackets, overcrowded.
DO: Book via hotel / official jetty. Check jackets.

9. FAKE ELECTRONICS
30% cheaper = fake / hacked to steal data.
DO: Official stores only.

10. ATM & CHECKOUT
Skimmers on street ATMs, wrong change at minimarts.

“Fade by SB” – @fadebysb
A new space, but the same familiar warmth. ☕️

Fade by SB opens a new chapter with a space that feels calm, intimate, and quietly inviting. Thoughtful details, warm textures, good coffee, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to stay a little longer.

Some places don’t need to be loud to leave an impression and Fade by SB has always understood that.

📍: 7, Lorong Universiti C, Section 16, 46350 Petaling Jaya, Selangor
