Coming to a hospital soon near you. Better late than never I guess. 🩺🏥

Caption is long but too proud not to.

Growing up with a learning disability, school has never been my thing. I have come such a long way in my academic journey. In high school I really struggled academically. I started college not really thinking I would make it, eventually everything finally clicked. I learned how to study, started getting really good grades, and I finally got a glimmer of hope for my future. I realized I am capable of pursuing my dreams.

I worked really hard. I knew being dyslexic I would need to put in much more effort then the average. I gave up weekends, sleep, and honestly pretty much everything to become a nurse. Even though nursing school and the journey to get accepted caused many tears, frustration, and fear of not making it out, I kept going.

I want to be a reminder for everyone who didn’t pursue their dreams because of a learning disability or because school didn’t come naturally to them, you can do it. You are capable of your goals and dreams.

Thank you to my cohort. I met some of my best friends along the way, who now feel more like family. We spent the last couple years together nonstop, celebrating successes and losses together. We always wanted each other to succeed, and they were always there to help, even when I had 300 questions. I truly could not have made it without them.

I could not have done this without a couple special people in my life. I want to say thank you to my family, friends, boyfriend, for their endless support. They were my biggest cheerleaders. My high school tutor who always believed in me, pushed me to pursue my dreams no matter how big or small. I didn’t think I could do it without her and I know she’s watching from above saying “I told you so!” My anatomy/physiology professor for always reminding me I knew more than I thought I did, even when I struggled in class (many tears were shed), and for believing in me when I seriously questioned if I would ever make it as a nurse.

Now here I am, I graduated! Next step → pass the boards to get my RN license!! Then continue my education. Thank you all for joining me on this journey 🤍
