Today is my dear friend’s birthday @klschlegel She’s not only a beautiful, charming, charismatic, and kind woman, an animal lover, and a wonderful friend — she’s also an amazing designer. ♥️ Today, I want to congratulate her and share the unique process behind a design she created for me. Her ideas truly inspired and amazed me — she even used real cassette tape to bring this concept to life. Some people might not have noticed it when they saw the T-shirt, so I decided to show you these tiny details — and at the same time congratulate Kristina. Btw here’s a little wisdom for the day: pay attention to the small things. You never know how much heart and effort someone has poured into creating something. Love you, Kristina. Keep creating and inspiring 🪽

FIRST PERFORMANCE ART(2011) — 21st Anniversary Reflections — With no budget left and the days counting down to the debut of the new Violet Crown theater, we became a little desperate. The brand work was complete, collateral was on the press, the first ads were released, and signage was installed (we were on the ladder ourselves with Evan Voyles). Yet, we needed art for the corridors. So, performance art for a “moving pictures” brand. Logical. Some friends came to the studio (@objett ‘s home at the time), and we put Violet Crown’s icon in different colors on their iPhones’ lock screen. Lights off. Long-exposure Nikon on a tripod. Dance Party. We even lit Ted, the studio mascot’s collar and let him wander the party. 🐾 — The client loved it. The framed large format prints hung in the theater for many years. — Moving Pictures and Nostalgia by FÖDA. Dancing about film and architecture by Kristina Schlegel, Lesley Taylor, Jeremy Wahlberg, Sean Lopano, and our beloved Theodore Jamal Huxtable von Taylor (RIP). — #lessonslearned #archive #design #graphicdesign #logo #symbol #icon #avatar #typography #branding #dancing #movies #movingpictures #film #cinema #motion @theneonjungle
