$First Day Versus Last💚💜 In honor of the new semester starting in a month and me starting my Graduate Assistantship at HWS on Monday, I decided I wanted to summarize my last 4 years. HWS had been my dream school since 9th grade and I knew when I committed I would go abroad. But I never imagined it would be 4 programs (1 each year). I never imagined I would be published for my travel writing. I knew I would be happy here and make friends but I never imagined how much those friendships would mean to me and how much I would change over the next 4 years. Coming into HWS, I planned on being a History major with a minor in Holocaust Studies. But I was accidentally put into Ancient Greek 101 my first semester and even though I struggled and I wanted to drop the class, I didn’t. I loved the class and soon I was a Greek & Roman Studies major with a minor in Greek. As well as a member of the classics honor society ΗΣΦ But after 4 years, 4 study abroad trips, 8 countries, 1 published work, 1 Blackwell-Hale Award (The John H. Ehrlich Prize in Judaic Studies) too many ankle sprains and fractures, many tears but much more laughs, I finished. I’m excited to start my next 2 years on campus🫶 thank you everyone who has made the last 4 years enjoyable💕$
