For my part 1 post of cub camp ‘26 I really want to highlight Gray Camp as a whole and what it means to me. Coming into UAFS as a transfer going into my junior year, I was already on limited time to make memories and make new relationships. After spending my first year learning the ropes of UAFS life and meeting so many people I decided I wanted to give back go the University and be apart of something bigger than my own glory, little did I know cub camp would become so much more than I would’ve ever imagined. To my wonderful chairs Johne and Alyssa I’m forever grateful for y’all accepting and trusting me to give this camp my all, you two were the PERFECT leaders and put your heart and souls into building what gray camp become this year.

To my fellow counselor staff, yall were amazing to work beside. Shoutout Alicia, Sav, and Alyssa for working so hard on the dance and leading the way for teaching it. To Ashley for basically creating the entirety of our amazing banner. To Hunter for capturing every unforgettable moment so we may look back them. To Luke for putting the banner on his back at all times to make sure people knew when gray camp had arrived. To Austin and Dwitt for always giving there all to making everyone laugh and be a reminder we’re here to have a good time. To my amazing gray camp staff I love you all forever and I’m so glad I was blessed to apart of such an amazing group and was able to form what I’ll call a family for the rest of my life.

Finally, to the wonderful campers of gray camp. Many of you were understandably very shy the first day and were struggling with the whole vibe of cub camp. But man I’m so proud of how yall showed up on day 2 to face your fears and put your everything into gray camp, on day 2 we went from bottom of the leader board to top 3 and we wouldn’t move down from the top rankings for the rest of cub camp because of y’all’s passion. By the final day and night you campers had committed yourselves ALL IN and everyone came out of there’s shells to pour there heart and souls into what gray camp meant to them. I’m forever proud of who yall are and look forward to hearing yalls battle cry in the future!

GRAY CAMP YOU HAVE MY HEART

Being on staff this year was so special and dear to my heart. I’ve been on staff the past couple of years but this time around it couldn’t have been better, not only because I was a chair but because the amazing people around me and the hardworking people setting my camp up for success. To my staff and Alyssa, I could talk about all of you all day about how special and talented you all are and how much you all mean to me now. I couldn’t have had a better group and partner in crime to help create a safe environment for our campers.
To my campers, you guys felt like me and Alyssa’s kids. We are so so so proud of each and every one of you for being yourself and getting out of your shell. It was the utmost privilege and calling to help you all in and out of our camp room and I couldn’t think of anything more rewarding. Like I said in our campfire speech, YOU all are MY inspiration and you made our camp what it was.

My campers and my staff made me wish I could be a chair over and over again but I can’t as I have to graduate this fall. I’m gonna cherish this so much and I’m so thankful to get the opportunity to create this beautiful camp!

thank you cub camp for the 4 years worth of memories. from camper, to c-staff, to counselor, and now chair — the opportunity that was given to me will forever remain in my heart and memory. to serve as chair for CC ‘26 is so special to me considering it being my last year and to meet and bond with other campers and other kiddos is something heartwarming and special.

to gray camp, thank you. thank you for being the best camp ever for me to serve as your chair, thank you for the energy and encouragement you all gave to everyone, and thank you all for being you. it’s truly an amazing experience for me as a chair, but seeing you all coming back to us means the world. i wouldn’t want to be with anyone else except for you all. you all truly made my weekend special. even though we only spent 3 days together, it may feel like it was short, however, those memories are forever. i love you all dearly. thank you for the love and memories.

GUESS WHOS A LION NOW!! so why did like literally why did NO ONE give me a warning that cub camp was sad? NO ONE told me I would cry, BUT I DID!! Gray camp, bat fam, you guys have my heart and chair and counselors mean the world to me. You guys made it worth getting out and trying new things. If i could i would relive cub camp all over again! I love yall. All you guys made a long-lasting imprint on me and the entire camp, so thank you, Gray camp! I heard a rumor that Gray camp is the best!
