Revisiting them makes my heart feel lighter now, instead of heavier..

The last time I visited, I met an uncle and an aunt who left a lasting impression on me. We sat together for hours, talking about life, experiences, and purpose.

Aunty shared her incredible journey of serving at LCWU as a principal, while Uncle spoke about his years of serving this country and representing it at seminars around the world As a doctor. Their wisdom, humility, and warmth stayed with me long after I left.

This time, I went back and found myself looking through every room, hoping to see Aunty again. But she wasn’t there anymore. The moment I realized she had passed away, I could barely speak. My feet felt heavy, and all I wanted was to go back home.

Then I asked about Uncle. The last time I had seen him, he had been in an accident, covered in bandages. A few days after my visit, I received a message that broke my heart—Uncle had also passed away.

What hurt me even more was learning that there was no one there to receive his body.

Moments like these remind me how fragile life is. They make me want to check in on the people around me a little more, to ask if they’re okay, and to be present while we still have the chance.

We often think people need grand gestures, but sometimes what they need most is our time, our presence, and someone willing to listen.

May Allah grant me the strength to always show up for the people I care about, to fulfill my commitments, and to never take anyone’s presence for granted.

May Allah grant them both the highest place in Jannah. Ameen. 🤍
