Taking #selfies with my phone’s broken front #lens gives a permanent #lensflare

I mean I don’t HATE it (I do hate it), but at least it’s got a #StarTrek vibe to it. #StarTrekLensFlare

Turned into a very busy month, January did, after starting slowly, and I got myself stuck in a domino effect of work and projects. Of meetings and podcast editing and job applications and marking and (still got to submit that bloody) tax return and editing and designing new modules and planning events and more editing..... But amongst; there have been flashes of joy, like getting together with these two brilliant #artsy humans and planning projects 🥰 and hey, when you get to choose your work colleagues, you get to be with the best people, right? 👌🏽 #Sunderland #WelcomeToSunderland #Sunderland2021 #Gay #GayGuy #Instagay #GayMan #Otter #Beard #Scruff #GayBeard #GayScruff

- KELSEY MAYO –
This artist’s passion for glass and ceramics led her to leave New York City and move to a key location in the world of glass art: Sunderland.
Kelsey says the @nationalglasscentre is renowned amongst experts of the craft and once she discovered it herself she knew she had to be based in the North East.
Her work focuses on mental health and the emotional aftermath of sexual assault. Through space and light she explores the trauma caused by such experiences and encourages people to question and contemplate these issues and also hopes to inspire others to speak up.
She recently returned to NYC after two years in the UK – only for two weeks mind; she’s now back in the place she calls “home”: “I’m starting my own glasswork studio in the North East.
The North East means something that’s strong, something that’s their own, that’s the first thing I noticed. Everyone here are their own individuals, but it’s a community.” #MadeintheNorthEast #glass #art #sunderland #nationalglasscentre #blackandwhite
