'ONE RHYTHM'
Oil on canvas
Artist - Prem Awale (India)

My painting explores the theme ‘Creativity Unites’ through a shared musical gathering set in Saint Petersburg, one of Russia’s greatest cultural capitals. Artists from different countries come together inside a Russian ship around a warm bonfire, creating music, dancing, and celebrating through one collective rhythm. While each figure represents a unique cultural identity through traditional musical instruments, clothing, and gestures, they are united by creativity rather than separated by their differences.

The work is inspired by the Indian philosophy of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (The World is One Family) The bonfire symbolizes our shared human values, while music becomes the universal language that connects people beyond nationality, religion, language, and stereotypes. The Russian setting acknowledges the country’s rich artistic heritage, where literature, ballet, classical music, and fine arts have inspired generations of artists. A Russian dancer performing a traditional folk dance represents the welcoming spirit of the host nation, inviting every culture to participate in one shared celebration.

In today’s world, where people are often divided by digital isolation, misinformation, and superficial influences, creativity offers another path. Through this painting, I want to express that art creates “One Rhythm”a rhythm that reminds us we belong to one human family. Although our cultures, traditions, and histories are different, creativity transforms diversity into harmony and allows humanity to celebrate together as one.

The Russian dancer becomes the visual heart of the host country’s culture, while every musician contributes a different voice. Together, they create “One Rhythm” a symbol of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, where the world gathers as one family through creativity.

I am delighted to be expressing my culture and thoughts, as well as the emotional experience of Russian culture, on an international platform through my art. It is a privilege for me to have succeeded in bringing my art to this level.
