Hi BBGs! I hope everyone is having an incredible summer! I wanted to take a moment to reflect on my experience on ILSI this summer, because it gave me a much deeper understanding of Israel, its history, and the many different perspectives that shape the country today.

Travelling alongside roughly 80 teens from across the globe, we had the opportunity to hear from Jews, Bedouins, Baháʼís, Arabs, Druze, LGBTQ+ Israelis, and Nova festival survivors, each with their own relationship to Israel and their own perspective on the situation in the Middle East. More than anything, it was the personal stories that stayed with me. Hearing people speak about their own experiences, memories, and identities made everything we were learning feel much more real than simply reading about it in an Instagram post or news report. These conversations pushed me to think beyond the narratives I was already familiar with and reminded me that there is rarely one story that can fully explain a place as complex as Israel.

Throughout the trip, we visited Yad Vashem, Har Herzl, the Nova festival site, and Tel Saki, where the Yom Kippur War began. Being physically present in these places, while also hearing directly from people whose lives have been shaped by the events we were learning about, gave the experience a depth I don’t think I could have found anywhere else. ILSI forced me to ask the difficult questions, listen with an open mind, and recognize the importance of understanding experiences that may be very different from my own.

If you’re thinking about your plans for next summer, I really can’t recommend a BBYO summer program enough. Whether it be ILSI, ILTC, CLTC, or even passport, they are all incredible.

If you have any questions at all about BBYO summer programs, please feel free to DM me! I’d love to talk about it and help in any way I can! 🤗🤗🤗

What upppp GARlings!!! 🐰🐰 I can’t believe just how fast 3 weeks flew by✈️. From the moment we welcomed the newcomers, the energy was unique and everyone was truly proud to be Jewish ✡️with their own distinct beliefs, practices, and traditions

This year GAR brought 1️⃣2️⃣ members to Kallah who immersed themselves with meaningful Jewish programming, inspiring and diverse people, as well as deep conversations that challenged their beliefs and values 🙊

I never would have imagined I would meet incredible people from so many places with cultures very much similar and different to my own🤩. Yet one thing remained: Everyone was united under one thing, their Judaism🕎. Because of Kallah I interacted with and befriended so many people from Japan 🇯🇵 to Spain 🇪🇸 and even Germany 🇩🇪

Through engaging in a Beiteinu 🕍 (Shoutout Liron’s), or a group of Jewish teens who meetup almost everyday to learn about Jewish aspects, get closer 😊, and bounce ideas and beliefs off each other, I was able to foster a new outlook on my Jewish identity 🫆and develop it further

Special moments included the Aleph Empowerment World Cup Program⚽️🏟️, Passover Day, helping lead Maccabiah🏀🎨🎥, Israel 360 🇮🇱🔵, Philly Field Trip, 3LTC visit, Looping ♾️, finding Leo Frank’s display🎖️, Beiteinu bonding, and forging a stronger connection ⛓️to our very own SISTER REGION: @gmrbbyo Looking forward to growing our regions together 🤗

HEY KMR👋

Recently, I got back from the most incredible 3 weeks in Israel on ILSI!🇮🇱We traveled all throughout the country🚌, learned about it’s people and history📝, rode camels🐪, floated in the Dead Sea🌊, experienced Shabbat at the Kotel🪬, and volunteered with local communities while making new friendships with teens from all across the order!🫂💗

This ILSI was the first one since October 7th, and I feel so lucky to have been a part of it!☺️I hope everyone has had an amazing summer and I can’t wait to see🫵 at kickoff!

HEY MHR!!! It’s Chloe 😊 just over a week ago, I got home from the most incredible three weeks in ISRAEL 🇮🇱 ✈️

Over the course of this trip, I had the opportunity to explore Israel, deepen my connection to the country, and make unforgettable memories with the most amazing people! 🫶👯‍♀️ ✡️

From Kvutzat Kinneret, the Sea of Galilee 🌊, and the city of Tzfat, to the beautiful beaches 🏖️ and graffiti tours of Tel Aviv 🌇, every stop was so special. We visited meaningful places like Nova, Yad Vashem, and Mount Herzl, welcomed Shabbat at the Kotel 🕍, floated in the Dead Sea, hiked Masada at sunrise 🌅, and of course enjoyed the most delicious food in the shuks! 🥙🧆

I had an unforgettable experience, and I’m so grateful to have been part of ILSI as it returned for the first time in three years! You should all go on ILSI, it is truly a once in a lifetime experience!!! 🪬🪬🪬

CCBBG!! 💙🇮🇱🪬

I just got back from an incredible 3 weeks in Israel 🇮🇱 with BBYO, and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend my third summer! ♥️♥️

From celebrating our first Shabbat at 🌿 Kvutzat Kinneret, hiking, swimming in the 🌊 Sea of Galilee, and exploring 🏘️ Tiberias, to visiting ✡️ Tzfat and learning about the 🤝 Druze community. We soaked up the sun 🏖️ in Tel Aviv, wandered through 🛍️ Shuk HaCarmel, visited the 💔 Nova Festival site, and ended our journey in ❤️ Jerusalem with Yad Vashem, Mount Herzl, and our final Shabbat at the 🕍 Kotel.

💙 We also joined the amazing RootOne event with 4,000+ Jewish teens and even got to see Yve, our CCBBG Sh’licha! I was also so lucky to share this unforgettable experience with Sydney, our CCBBG S’ganit.

Thank you ILSI for memories I’ll cherish forever!! I hope you all can experience this next summer becuase summer programs are truly the best 🤗🤗

Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to attend BBYO’s International Leadership Training Conference (ILTC), and it’s an experience I’ll carry with me for a long time. 🌎❤️

Meeting amazing teens from regions across the world, exchanging ideas, and learning from inspiring leaders reminded me just how powerful our movement is. The friendships I made and the lessons I learned have already left a lasting impact.

As ONR Regional Godol, I’m excited to bring that energy, those ideas, and everything I learned back to our region. I’m looking forward to working alongside our regional board, chapter leaders, and every member to make this year one of growth, connection, and unforgettable experiences.

Thank you to everyone who made ILTC possible. The future of ONR is bright, and we’re just getting started.
