A work announcement - I’ve been with Force of Nature for six years - four as Programs and Partnerships Director, two as Executive Director. I joined at 24, I’m now 31, and it feels like I’ve grown up with this organization. I’m also the last one standing from our founding team(!)

We used to joke about how each of us would “age out” of being a youth organisation. We never really knew what the future would hold. We were learning while building, with a determined but naive optimism that I think has been crucial to our success. Yet the world today is even more uncertain than the one we started this work in.

Funding has become increasingly difficult, even as we’ve gained credibility, access and bigger opportunities. We know we’re not alone. There’s more talk across the network about the need to collaborate, to do things differently. But we’re all trying to build something with no blueprint yet, while still carrying the same hang-ups around ego, resource-sharing, competition, and the legacies of white supremacy and capitalism that shape movement work even now.

We know we need to do things differently, urgently, and with a lot of care. So, as a community, we’ve made a decision out of necessity - but also excitement about what it means to lead in this moment:

Force of Nature is merging with The Resilience Project.

Our work has been running in parallel for a long time, and will be stronger in one home. We’re in crisis times now, and need more collaboration and less ego.

As part of this transition, I’m handing over leadership. I’ve grown up with this organization, and now I’m ready to grow into something else.

I am a different person than I was 6 years ago (literally, physically, metaphorically) - and the best part is easily the people I’ve met along the way. Thanks for being part of the journey.

This work has always been bigger than any one of us. It takes a whole ecosystem to keep it alive, responsive, and growing to meet the moment. These transitions are part of that - a living organization changing shape, the way living things do.

I’m taking two months to rest, reflect, and look back before jumping into what’s next. I’m calling it a ‘harvest’. 🍂🍁
