POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Last week, I wrapped up my semester long internship with @knighteady ! Here’s my favorite shots from covering the @conferenceusa and @american_conf tournament championships for them a while back.

This first photo is one of my favorites I’ve ever taken, and it almost didn’t happen!!

During the @conferenceusa Women’s Championship net-cutting, I got the idea to shoot from directly under the basket for a unique angle. While I was editing, Knight Eady team member Elli pointed out that the other side of the scissors said “Knight Eady”!

So for the men’s game, we wrote “Knight Eady” on both sides of two pairs of scissors in hopes we would get the money shot!

While shooting the men’s game, I anxiously waited in hopes to accomplish our fun little mission. But, in the chaos of Kennesaw State’s win, somehow the wrong pair of unlabeled scissors made it up the ladder. Right before the KSU owls made their way up the victory ladder, Ellie spotted it and Director of Member Partnerships Holt made a buzzer beater finish to swap them just in time!

The photo that followed is one of my favorites I’ve ever taken, not only because of the story behind it, but also because of the story it tells! To me, it captures everything Knight Eady stands for: teamwork, helping others reach their dreams, and giving them the tools to do it.

I’m so grateful for the opportunity to shoot these tournaments, such a great place & group of people to learn and grow!!

Seven seasons in, and I still pinch myself.

Being a hype man in sports is an unconventional path — I know that. There was no blueprint. No one to look at and say “that’s what I want to be.” I just believed in the power of energy, connection, and what it means to make someone feel seen in a crowd of thousands.
And this year, more than any other, I’ve been overwhelmed with gratitude for where this platform has taken me.

You never know what someone is carrying when they walk through those arena doors. Maybe it’s a hard season at home. Maybe it’s something heavier. But I believe with everything in me that a night out — a high five, a hug, a bracelet, a picture, a real moment — can plant something in your heart that keeps you going when things get tough.

This season has been filled with moments like these — and I don’t take a single one for granted. From high fives and hugs, to pictures and autographs, to gifting fans bracelets and necklaces and receiving gifts from them in return… every single one of those moments is intentional.

Every one is real.

This platform — as unconventional as it is — has given me the chance to walk into arenas and remind people that joy is possible. That they matter. That someone in that building sees them.

I don’t take that lightly. Not for a single second. 🧡

12 years ago, @kelynrowe, @teamnegu, and I created something special — Kelyn’s NEGU Crew. A VIP experience for children battling cancer and their families. Special seats. Field passes. Gifts. And one night to escape everything and just be a family. Kelyn did more than 50 of these events, meeting 50+ families and rallying an entire fan base around one message: Never Ever Give Up.

I spent years on the planning side of these events, working alongside athletes to build the most special night possible for each family. It was an honor then. But this year… it came full circle.

Hype Man Cory’s NEGU Crew.

Alongside @knighteady and @huntsvillesports at the @elevatethestage Huntsville NCAA Quad Meet, with the support of the Jessie Rees Foundation, three incredible kids — Allison, Journey, and Cadence — each battling cancer, got the full VIP treatment alongside their families. Early arrival. Floor access during warmups. Time in the content room. Goodies from competing teams. A chance to meet Olympic Silver Medalist and ESPN analyst @bridgetsloan. And at the end of the night?

Allison and Cadence handed out the final awards on the podium.

Watching those student athletes receive their flowers from Allison and Cadence — and seeing the smiles that spread across their faces in that moment — I had to hold it together. The fans felt it too. Everyone adored that moment. And those athletes, who work so hard and pour so much into their sport, got to share their podium with two little girls who are fighting the hardest fight of their lives. That’s what sport is supposed to do.

After years of helping build these moments for others, getting to create the smiles firsthand was something I’ll carry with me forever. To Allison, Journey, and Cadence — thank you for letting us pour into you for a night. You are why we Never Ever Give Up.✨🙌🏼
