Calling all textile enthusiasts! 🧶

We’re thrilled to welcome back @a.little.yarn! Kat crafts beautiful textural wall hangings and homewares using the slow and steady art of punch needle from her cozy Launceston studio. Her designs are heavily inspired by patchwork, and her love for vibrant colors shines through in every piece 🌈

We’re also excited to welcome back @knitting.for.esti this summer ☀️ Showcasing her one-of-a-kind collection of cotton rompers and more. Kim donates 100% of sales to supporting 8yo Estifanos and his family in Ethiopia 🥰

We’re excited to introduce you to @knitting.for.esti 🧶

✨ Kim knits to support the @care_for_children_ccela orphanage in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The orphanage is home to 18 children, including 7yo Estifanos. It is privately operated, lead by an amazing team of Launceston families, and relies solely on donations.

✨ Kim has now been to Ethiopia twice and can attest to the amazing care the children receive at the orphanage. She is more motivated than ever to keep supporting the children.

✨ All money raised from her knitting goes directly to CCELA. Since “for Esti” was launched in January 2021 she has donated over $6000.

✨ Kim uses high-quality Australian wool to craft her garments. It is a very slow craft but every stitch is knitted with Estifanos as her motivation.

Introducing “knitting for Esti” but more importantly introducing the gorgeous Estifanos whom is more commonly known as Esti.

Esti is 7 years old and lives in a orphanage along with 17 other children in Addis Ababa Ethiopia.

Esti suffered severe burns to his face whilst in hospital. The extent of his injuries and disfiguration resulted in his planned adoption falling through due to the family withdrawing from the adoption.

Estifanos is cared for by CCELA and sponsored by the White family here in Tasmania. Esti is a happy and vivacious young boy that is now thriving in his education.

Proceeds for these gorgeous hand made items go towards Esti and all of the children at the CCELA.

Fundraising Efforts

In 2021 CCLEA received financial support from Speranza22, they are an international invitational rugby team who's name honours one of their team members who tragically passed away in 2013. Speranza22 over the years have donated over £45,000 to affiliated charities, CCELA being one of these.

In 2022 Speranza22 hosted their first fundraising event with a focus on raising more money for their chosen charities, again CCELA was one of the chosen charities. This video was shown at their event...

Rory, the founder and director of Speranza22 has reported that this fundraiser was a real success.

Thank you to Speranza22 for your ongoing and generous support !

Let’s introduce you the new addition to our family. His name is Boja 😍6 years abandoned boy. He came from the government orphanage. When he arrive at CCELA he was 24/7 on diaper affecting his skin badly. Now he is free of diaper for the day time and shows a big improvement since he joined CCELA.
Our team is working hard adjusting his life. We have seen a fast progress within less than 4 weeks , asking toilet and try to communicate with the kids. Now he is very loved by the care givers and developed attachment with his brothers and sisters😍Support Boja Support CCELA🙏
