IN OUR BAG! 👜 Birthday Edition! My daughter Nae understood the birthday assignment! 💕 She surprised me with an “In Our Bag” purse-making experience hosted by KNOTTI Shop at Thymele Arts in Los Angeles. Now, if you know anything about me, you know how much I love creating with my hands! Give me some hair to braid, a piece of furniture to breathe new life into, or some denim to turn into a purse or handbag, and I'm in my element! That creativity even follows me into the looks I put together as a clothing stylist. So this experience was speaking my language! Getting there was another story! 😂 That Inland Empire-to-L.A. traffic had me arriving around 2:20 for my 2:00 session. But our wonderful instructor welcomed me right in, helped me catch up, and made me feel completely comfortable. Imagine a room with at least two dozen ladies, beautiful colors, good conversation, and everybody creating their own handwoven purse. No sewing involved! And guess who ended up sitting with another Libra? ♎💕 You KNOW we had to talk about our birthday month! I chose that gorgeous, bold Barbie pink in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 💗 Watching our instructor gracefully guide an entire room of women while making the process easy to understand was impressive! We created, laughed, took pictures, and walked away with something we made ourselves. But what touched me most was knowing my daughter chose an experience that truly reflected who I am. Nae, you know your mama! Thank you for this beautiful birthday memory and a handbag I'll actually use! I captured the experience in a little video compilation and included a message I wanted to share with you: “As October closes its chapter, may new light begin to rise.” 💕 Those words are my gift to you. As one chapter closes, we don't have to leave behind what we've learned or experienced. Nothing is lost. We can carry that knowledge and wisdom into whatever comes next, allowing something new to begin. I hope those words resonate with you in your own way. 💕 #InOurBag #KNOTTIShop #BirthdayWeekend #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth #HandmadeHandbag

I signed up for a hand-knitting class because I’m becoming really intentional about trying things that make me feel good — and I’m learning that wellness doesn’t always have to involve sweating. Sometimes it’s Pilates. Sometimes it’s getting stronger. Sometimes it’s being outside. And sometimes it’s sitting down, learning something completely new and realizing: “Wait…I MADE that.” And baby, I made a PURSE. 😂 She’s chunky. She’s green. She’s imperfect. And she’s mine. I think this chapter of my life is becoming less about working out and more about building a life that I actually enjoy participating in. And I really like that for me. What should I go learn next? #thingstodoinhouston
