CCC Spotlight Series 🔦

Dajour Buffonge is the founder of @knowbigbro CIC , a mentoring organisation supporting young people growing up without consistent, positive male role models. With over 10 years of mentoring experience, a trauma-informed approach, and a trained psychotherapist, he creates safe spaces where young people feel seen, heard, and empowered.

Through therapeutic mentoring and community-based interventions, kNOw Big Bro helps build resilience, confidence, and emotional wellbeing while challenging the stigmas surrounding mental health. Passionate about breaking cycles of trauma and disadvantage, Dajour is committed to creating lasting change—strengthening families, inspiring communities, and ensuring every young person has the guidance, support, and belief they need to thrive.

How did it feel to be nominated?

“I felt deeply humbled, incredibly grateful, and genuinely affirmed to be nominated. To have the work of kNOw Big Bro recognised is a reminder that the impact we’re making is being seen beyond the young people and families we support every day. My nomination wasn’t just about me it’s a reflection of every conversation, every breakthrough, and every young person who has chosen to believe in themselves. It motivates me even more to continue creating spaces where young people feel seen, heard, and empowered to change the trajectory of their lives.”

Thank you Dajour for all the great work you continue to do!

Nominations open Aug 1st - Who are you going to nominate?

Last week, we had the pleasure of speaking with Dajour at the @capitalcitycollege wellbeing fair - A mentor doing incredible work supporting young men and boys.

(@knowbigbro )

He’s breaking stigmas, building confidence, and helping young boys feel empowered to use their voices. It was really inspiring hearing about the impact he’s making and the importance of creating safe spaces where young people feel heard, supported, and understood. Through mentorship, guidance, and genuine connection, he’s helping the next generation grow in confidence both mentally and physically💙

One thing we’ll always value is highlighting people within the community who are creating real change and pouring into young people in such positive ways. The power of support, representation, and community can truly change lives✨

They told you what to wear.
What success looks like.
What matters.

And most people followed… without ever asking why.

But some don’t move like that.

Contrariness isn’t rebellion for attention.
It’s clarity.
It’s questioning what everyone else accepts.
It’s seeing through the noise… and choosing meaning anyway.

Someone who’s contrarian doesn’t just follow — they challenge, question.

It’s independent thinking.
It’s refusing to wear what the world tells you…
and choosing what actually means something.
That’s where I’m That Guy lives.

Not in status.
Not in approval.
Not in the crowd.

This is for the ones who think for themselves.
Who wear purpose, not pressure.
Who understand that what’s on your chest
can change what’s in your mind…
and open a door for someone else to speak.

This isn’t just fashion.
It’s a signal.
A quiet strength.
A conversation waiting to happen.

Most follow.

Some think.

If they all agree… who’s actually thinking?

I’m That Guy!! 👍🏻
Fashion That Makes Sense.

Put an ant on white paper.
Draw a circle around it with a pen.
The ant walks… reaches the line… and stops.
To the ant, the ink looks like a wall.
So it walks the circle.
Round and round… looking for an exit.
But nothing is trapping it.
It could step over the line at any moment.
The prison is in its mind.
The same happens with a spider.
It circles the ink believing it’s trapped — until one leg accidentally steps over the line.
In that moment it realises the truth:
The wall never existed.

People do the same thing.
Circles drawn by trends, status, and herd thinking.
Wear what everyone wears.
Repeat what everyone repeats.
Round and round.
But real luxury is freedom —
and freedom isn’t worth trading just to make the same mistakes as everyone else.
Fashion That Makes Sense isn’t the herd.
It’s the step over the line.

Wear never be trapped by the pen again.

Board Members… here’s one rooted in purpose, sacrifice and elevation.

This year, Know Big Bro (@knowbigbro) made a choice many organisations talk about but rarely commit to — stepping fully into its mission, passion and purpose. No half-stepping. No playing it safe. Just conviction and forward movement.

But choosing purpose always comes with a cost.

To grow, Know Big Bro had to release old structures, old routines, and anything that no longer aligned with where the mission was heading. That process wasn’t easy — but it created space. Space for new opportunities, deeper impact, and the version of the organisation it was meant to become.

And through all those shifts came a powerful sense of gratitude:

• Gratitude for clarity and direction
• Gratitude for the things that had to be let go
• Gratitude for the growth that came from discomfort
• Gratitude for community, support and alignment

Sometimes the bravest (or “dumbest”) thing you can do is trust your calling — and Know Big Bro is showing why that leap matters.

Board Members… what are we saying?
How many of us are still holding onto things that don’t belong in our next chapter?
And what does committing to your purpose really look like?

A couple months on and we want to send a big shout out to @thecccawards for the amazing event they put on to host our young boys. It wasn’t about the result, it was about the connection and brotherhood on the pitch an off it.

A big big shout to the brother @mrmaharihay for making this all possible, looking for to part 2 in the new year with a rematch pending.

Thank you to @embassystaffingsolutions for bringing the half time and full time snacks for us all.

Special thank you to @bellinghamllc & @better_uk for hosting us and especially Lee Howell for being a vital component in not just making this happen but also for Saving souls to do the work that we do.

Thank you to all of the brothers that took part in the fixture and all the organisation that @mrmaharihay sorted to make this happen.

A special thank you to our brother @stevanliterally who has been instrumental with the work with our young boys

God bless you all
