In my adult breaking class, I’m the oldest at 31. You quickly realize how thin the herd gets for adult breaking. It’s hard on the body. It’s intimidating. It requires many different athletic qualities all in one.

On top of that, I have a history of saying that, “I have tight hips”, “I’m uncoordinated,” or “Dancing isn’t my gift.” There were many limiting beliefs that prevented me from understanding that dance is a skill like anything else.

So here I am. Still showing up after 6 months of breaking from absolutely zero. Like clunky rhythm and off beat frozen steps zero. Yet, somehow along the way, that was ironed out into becoming the foundations and finally feeling like a bboy who is starting to create art.

I already see major improvements between this and my previous bboy sets from a few months ago. I can’t wait to see how I grow over the next few years.
