Armbar Side Control 🤼

1. Positioning and Control:
• Base & Pressure: Make sure your weight is evenly distributed on your opponent, with your chest pressing down. This will keep them pinned and prevent them from escaping.

2. Isolating the Arm with the Windshield Wiper:
• Grip: Before you initiate the windshield wiper, secure their far arm (the arm you’re attacking) by pinning it with your head. This will ensure they can’t pull their arm back or defend it easily.
• Windshield Wiper Motion: As you slide your knee over their arm for the windshield wiper, keep your foot active to create a strong frame. Make sure you use your shin to pin their arm down.

3. Transitioning to the Armbar:
• Turn the Corner: Pivot your body towards their head. As you do, swing your leg over their head while keeping the isolated arm tight to your chest. Make sure your hips are close to their shoulder to minimize space and prevent them from escaping.
• Secure the Arm: Grab their wrist or elbow to control the arm. Your other hand should be controlling their body or arm to prevent them from defending.

4. Finishing the Armbar:
• Leg Position: Squeeze your knees together tightly to eliminate any gaps. This ensures that their arm is completely isolated and unable to escape.
• Hips and Back: As you apply the armbar, drive your hips upward while pulling down on their arm. Ensure that your back is arched slightly to maximize the leverage and pressure on the elbow joint.

@templojiujitsuclub ⛩️⛩️ @knowyourrootsjj •NOGi - High Guard + Double Armbar

Been only hitting NOGI once or twice a week lately—definitely missing the grind🔥. 5 rounds / 10 minutes / 2 minutes rest between rounds on Friday night with my good friend @coach.lemon.8 🤝🏻 He caught me twice for the first time ever—guess there’s a first time for everything 🙄🥋
