Back in 2010 (last 2 pics), SATE was the first person to let me interview her for what turned out to be a short lived project I wrote and produced, called Shameless Groupie. As cringey as the tag line is: “shamelessly stalking the art within the artist”🤦🏾‍♀️, it still speaks to my childlike fascination for the creative process. If could spend all day bearing witness to artists experimenting and jamming with their respective instruments, I would. Thank you SATE and Todor for letting me be a fly on the wall during your session today. My inner shameless groupie was so stoked✊🏾🖤 #shamelessgroupie #composers #filmmaking #canadiancomposers #junonominated #thejunos #blackwomeninfilm

I recently did a Q & A via zoom with some special guests to inspire my music students at Seneca College. At the end of the session, we took a zoom pic of the guests, and some of the students. As you can tell, everyone was happy with the outcome. Thank you to Todor Kobakov, Hannah Bussiere Kim, Steve Zsirai and Kerry Clarke (not shown here, since she had a radio show, and had to leave a little early), you all shared a wealth of knowledge, and told it like it is, and for that, we all appreciate you and your life's work. Wishing you all the best in your future ventures in the music world.

TONIGHT at 11:30 PM. If you miss it, you can stream it on CBC Gem. I should probably warn people... these clips are mostly light and fun... but the story has some really dark elements. Remember when the pandemic started and nobody knew how dark things could get? ... it can always get worse. That's what I wrote about. Starring David Tompa @tatompa Dani Kind @danikindofficial Kristian Bruun @mrkristianbruun Katherine Fogler @katherine_fog Producer= @rfisherfilms DP= Adam Madrzyk @adammadrzyk Editor= Eamonn O’Connor @eamonnoconnor Music= Todor Kobakov @Kobakov Make Up= Larissa Palaszczuk @larissathemakeupartist Wardrobe= Sheila Fitzpatrick @sheilafitzpatrick100 Titles= Daniel Schrempf @_dansch #cdntalent #canadianactor #cdnfilm #canadianfilm #torontofilm #shortfilm #cbc #cbcgem #postapocalypse #finderskeepers

BOOM!!! Big reveal!!! Songs of Longing, world release on Friday Sept. 10th! It's now available for pre-order on Apple Music! https://music.apple.com/ca/album/songs-of-longing/1581878563 Big congratulations to the performers! AND Especially big congratulations to Ksenia Sapunkova. Her watercolor illustration (which currently sits framed in my studio) was commissioned for this special occasion as the album cover. AND Super big thanks to Todor Kobakov for helping guide me in post production and being an amazingly cool dude and musical mentor. ALSO Big thank you to Pablo Schuller. What an amazing mastering engineer and overall cool guy! =) You can listen on all digital streaming platforms (including NAXOS!!!!) or purchase a physical copy from the Canadian Music Centre starting September 10th! The CMC has been of such tremendous help, I'm so thankful for them! What's that you say? You're wondering if you can get the scores to play these pieces with your ensemble? Well, you're in luck! All scores are available at the Canadian Music Centre! This project was made possible through funds provided by the Toronto Arts Council and Ontario Arts Council. As an immigrant in Canada, I'm beyond grateful for the support, and when I first arrived, viewed these resources as hopelessly out of reach. I'm so happy that I was wrong. #chambermusic #studiolife #newmusic #classicalmusic #music #composer #newmusic @torontoartscouncil #ontarioartscouncil #composerlife #contemporaryclassical #musiccomposer
