2024, PaGya was familiar territory now
But we decided to switch things up!

Ghanaian-ising a novel by Nigerian writer Damilare Kuku “Nearly all the men in Lagos are mad” and making it Nearly all the men in ACCRA are mad”

It was definitely a trip we loved to take and set the tone for more to come!

Then came 2023! A tradition upheld

To celebrate the life and legacy of Legendary Ghanaian writer Ama Ata Aidoo, we performed “Changes, A love story”

Then came 2022, after a request to the what we did best the first year, came the desire for a Ghanaian authored book.

We chose “His Only Wife” by Peace Adzo Medie; with very relevant themes we believed would be relatable to
our audience.

Let’s take a trip down memory lane, shall we!
It all began in 2022 @writerspg Pa Gya Literary Festival!

Were you there on day 1? Let’s us know in the comments below

A dramatized reading of the stage adaptation of Lola Shoneyins The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s wives, as directed by Alice Johnson @officialmissaj for her University final year project with all alumni, some original cast, others joining to make the cast complete.

And a standing ovation from Lola Shoneyin and the entire audience. Who knew this was here to stay?

Rehearsals.......
The place for all things crazy.
If we live streamed rehearsals on some days I'm pretty sure people would find it more entertaining than the play itself.

And its always interesting times with

I love stage acting because it feels honest. There’s something magical about standing in front of people and sharing a story with just your voice, your body, and your truth. The nerves, the adrenaline, the connection with the cast and the audience. It all makes me feel alive. The stage is where I’m most me.
