POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

A hot sweaty handful of weeks cycling through Uzbekistan exploring some of the most famous settlements along the old Silk Road trading routes 🐪

Major expanse in between the cities and long days in the desert became the norm. We blew our longest days cycling 4 times in a row completing a 170km stretch averaging 26.7km with young Paul on my wheel the entire day. Fond memories made with the people in Uzbekistan outweigh the beautiful architecture absorbed and the beauty of the country is so much more than on the surface of the well kept model city and amusement park facade of the major hubs like Samarkand Bukhara and Chiva- chatting with locals sharing stories with travellers and being force fed vodka will be some of the impactful moments that stick with me just as long as the mosaics of registan square.

How lucky we have been to meet and cycle with such a mix of interesting and inspiring people on this trip - to be honest they are the exact reason I haven’t posted in a long time, I’d much rather be sharing experiences and talking to them in the moment and be present than be sat editing videos - although I will certainly endeavour to keep posting over the coming weeks!

Thanks to everyone who was a part of our time in Uzbekistan we love you all @_rerouting @kobeopavontuur @xy_bldr Paul and Lennart and all the amazing Uzbeks from along the road 💕🐕🚲

We had high hopes of crossing the Zagari Pass in the Svaneti Mountains of Northern Georgia. Locals warned us it may be shut, but we (and a few others) wanted to check for ourselves. It was indeed not rideable. 😅❄️

We’ve ridden back down the valley to Mestia to take a few days off the bike and explore the area by foot!🇬🇪

Belki de hepimiz, tanımadığımız insanlara karşı biraz daha meraklı olmalıyız. Belki de hepimiz birbirimize karşı biraz daha nazik olmalıyız.” ❤️

Perhaps we should all be a little more curious about strangers. Perhaps we should all be a little kinder to one another. ❤️
