We are psyched to welcome @koch_maya to the FM Radio team!

Maya is a Colorado-based climber, dog mom, and vintage t-shirt enjoyer. On a self-described “amateur comp climbing journey”, Maya found climbing in her early 20s and quickly discovered a passion for movement, community, and access to the outdoors. Only 5 years into climbing with no looking back, Maya is thrilled to be considered an “athlete” and uses her background in dance to influence her climbing style.

Maya travels year-round for outdoor climbing in her camper van with Peanut, her 7-pound dog. Between working full-time in clinical research, training for comps, and questing for her first double-digit outdoors, Maya enjoys making silly Instagram posts and going thrifting.

The last month has been a blur.
I went back to Minnesota for my grandma’s funeral and got to see a lot of friends while I was home. It was really nice to be back, but it also reminded me why I’m so excited to be where I am now.
I had about a week back before heading up to Vail for the GoPro Mountain Games. I set for two days, drove back to Denver, caught a flight to Bend, watched @dylanbarks95 and @lexi_losacco finally get married, then less than 18 hours later flew back to Denver, drove back up to Vail, and kept setting.
I had a blast setting for the Citizens Comp at the GoPro Mountain Games. I also got to forerun for the North American Cup Series portion of the event. Thanks again to that crew for being so welcoming and letting me jump in. Thanks also to my crew for being so easy to work with.

Special thanks to my employer Setter Closet for being so flexible with my schedule to allow for all of this and also to Madrock. This was my first time getting to try out the Remora Pro in an actual comp scenario. I never thought I’d feel so secure on volumes.

Edging Edgio ⭐️⭐️⭐️, a really fun one from a few weeks ago. The perfect boulder to finish breakfing in my new pair of Drones. Fairly humid but I got a professional beta spray from @sernickolas1st so it wasn’t too bad. Got to spend a bit of time learning the moves on Reg Reggio and it made me realize I can crimp wayyyyy harder than I realized. Looking forward to more fun sessions with good crews. #climbing #bouldering #rockclimbing #fitness #outdoors

Either rehearse the top of your climb, or have @dylanbarks95 stand behind you and tell you exactly what to do.
