A beautiful home is about so much more than how it looks. It’s about how it makes you feel 🧠

I’ve become so interested in the way our surroundings can influence our mood, our memories and even the way we think. Why certain spaces make us feel instantly at ease, why a familiar scent can transport us back to a particular moment, or why some rooms just feel like us and there's actually a whole field of research dedicated to exploring this relationship, called neuroaesthetics.

And I think it’s such a wonderful reminder that creating a beautiful home isn’t necessarily about having the most expensive furniture or following the latest interiors trend. It’s about creating an environment that supports the way you want to live and feel and creating a space that feels good to your nervous system, not just your eyes 🧠 🤍

What are you spraying in your home?

Some swaps are so easy to make and switching toxic room sprays for @kodohome_ is a no brainer

Candles is another one! @kala_blends offer non toxic candles without the compromise on scent! They smell unbelievable and are definitely what I am using every day

This hasn’t happened overnight, but slowly over the last few years I have been way more intentional about the products I use to optimise our wellbeing… Here are our low tox everyday staples:

These are some of the brands I personally love and come back to time and time again.
(All bought no ads)

✨ Skin: Green People, Evolve Beauty (sophie15 for discount), Fat Cow Skin, Dr Barbara Sturm
✨ Make-up: Fierce Nature, Victoria Beckham Beauty, Saie
✨ Hair: Get Selkie, Evolve Beauty, Attitude living
✨ Cleaning: Miniml, Kit & Kin
✨ Kitchen: Black & Blum, Our Place, OceanSaver
✨ Laundry: DIP, Wild & Kind, Kit & Kin
✨ Fragrance: Kodo London Home fragrance + Serene by Sophie perfume
✨ Kids: Kit & Kin, Neal’s Yard, Weleda, Attitude Living, Gutology, Fierce Nature

For me, it’s never been about making every single thing perfect. It’s about making more considered choices, one swap at a time.

Save this for your next low-tox / non-toxic swap and tell me: Which category should I do a deep dive on next?

And somehow it’s September already 🤍
A little bit of life at home lately. Ordinary mornings, evenings around the table and little home projects in between.
