A garment doesn’t stop being considered once the front is done. In fact, for us, some of our most deliberate details happen in the back, somewhere you least expect them to be.
A corset held together by a single dori. Panels cut in a contrasting fabric. Lacing that changes the way a piece sits on the body. Open backs, crossed ties, unexpected construction, hand-finished details. These are the details that give a garment its character and, more importantly, a narrative that can so easily be overlooked in design.
Because for us, the back is not an afterthought to the design. It is part of the design itself.

We have a tendency to not see things the way they are traditionally supposed to be. Carpets turned to shoes, shirts into skirts. And here, a spoon turned into an armband. At Two Extra Lives, we don’t see things straight🌪️

Adorning necklaces made of precious metals and stones has been a status symbol for as long as known history. The nomads carried little with them, including jewellery they made from shells, stones and features. As civilisations formed, the banks of the Indus river civilisations wore jewellery not just as adornments but also as talismans to protect the early man from his superstitions.

In the land of the Pyramids, the necklace is a sign of power, wealth and status. As time passed, The Middle Ages bought religious aspects to the mix of societal hierarchy of the necklace.

The Renaissance inspired a renewed interest in the art of jewelry-making. Elaborate necklaces adorned with pearls, gemstones, and intricate enamelwork became fashionable accessories for the nobility and aristocracy, reflecting the refinement of the era.

In the recent years, the obsession of creating and wearing such intricate pieces of art has declined. The modern world has no desire to wear and look like art anymore. Our evolution has resulted in a minimalistic aesthetic. Two Extra Lives is a home to all things art, and the jewellery it houses is an exact balance between the art and the minimalist.

You start with a seed — an idea, a connection, or a shared purpose. It must be planted in fertile soil, in a supportive environment where it can take root. At @roadtotwoextralives, we walk in unity, grounded in love, guided by a collective vision. Just like a healthy plant eventually blossoms, a strong community gives back. Come join us in building a community together that embraces the beauty of shared existence :)

BOYS WILL BE TOYS, a multidisciplinary project that showcased a photobook, a theatrical performance, an audio-visual installation.

Boys will be toys, a magazine, takes an up-close and personal look at boyhood — not as a fixed identity, but as a space of play, rupture, and reinvention.

As children, we bent our toys to our imagination. This work asks: how far can we stretch the idea of what a ‘boy’ can be? Are masc and femme opposites — or echoes of one another? Where does one end and the other begin?

I see you
move like me
symmetry
as if my shadow
walks
inside you
I hear you
talk in my voice
A choice
Two echoes
becoming
