To Hoptown, From Cole

I’m having one of those moments where I’m looking back and thanking Jesus for His plan throughout this whole experience. I can’t even begin to describe how important this city has been to me over the last two summers. Playing for the Hoppers has been such a blessing, and this city will always hold a special place in my heart.

Dawn and Bruce, thank you for being the most amazing host family I could ever ask for. You’re not just my host family. You’re my family. Your hospitality and generosity have inspired me so much. You all have the biggest hearts and the kindest souls. You welcomed me into your home, treated me like one of your own, and made Hopkinsville feel like another hometown to me. You’ve genuinely changed my life. I love you both dearly.

Coach Benne and Kirby, thank you for believing in me, pushing me, and bringing back my passion for baseball. You guys made baseball fun again. When I needed a coach, you were there. When I needed a friend, you were there. Thank you for showing me what summer ball is supposed to be like. I will always love and appreciate you all.

To my teammates, you all became some of my best friends. My people. My guys. The memories, mafia games, and post-game Dairy Queen blizzards… You all have left me with memories I’ll cherish forever. Thank you all.

Mom and Dad, thank you for allowing me to enjoy all of the summer ball experiences. I couldn’t have done anything without you guys. I love you all so very much!!!

Most importantly, this place changed my life because it’s where my faith truly began to grow. It gave me the courage to step out and start making Verse of the Day videos; to truly be myself and become the man who God made me to be. Through this game, this city, and these people, my relationship with Jesus Christ grew deeper. I’ve become a better man, a better son, a better brother, a better friend, a better baseball player, and most importantly, a better servant of Jesus.
