POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Never thought I’d be going through this again just 8 months after my first surgery, but here we are. ❤️‍🩹 Finding another mass on my ovary was definitely not something I would’ve ever expected.

If there’s one thing this whole experience has taught me, it’s to always listen to your body. You know yourself better than anyone, and if something feels off, speak up, ask questions, and keep advocating for yourself. Don’t brush things off or feel like you’re being dramatic. I’m so grateful I trusted my gut.

Your health is everything, and I’ve been reminded of that a lot lately. I am so blessed and thankful for my support system and the amount of love and prayers I’ve received. ❤️ on the bright side @kabba__ranks thinks my incisions are badass

I felt compelled to share my story finding out I had a cantaloupe sized tumor on my ovary in hopes it might help other women advocate for themselves when it comes to their health and reproductive bodies. 🩺🫀

In October 2025, I started noticing that I felt constantly bloated. At first, I thought it might be my diet, so I started eating only whole foods and cutting out anything “unhealthy.” But the bloating kept getting worse. Eventually, my stomach looked like I was pregnant, and the discomfort continued to grow.

I made an appointment with my OB, who said my uterus felt about the size of someone who was four months pregnant. She immediately ordered two ultrasounds. The results showed a large mass covering my entire abdomen — so large that my ovaries and uterus couldn’t even be seen on the scan.

The day after receiving those results, I ended up in the ER because the pain in my stomach and lower back became unbearable. The tumor was compressing my organs, and doctors had to drain two liters of fluid from my abdomen (which honestly felt like instant relief).

Soon after, I was referred to an oncologist to discuss next steps and further testing. We decided the best option was surgery to remove the mass. A few weeks later, I had the surgery where the tumor and half of my ovary were removed (I named it Roger lol).

Thankfully, the pathology results came back as a low malignant tumor, but I will need to have testing done every year for the rest of my life.

I’m sharing this because listening to your body and advocating for yourself is so important. If something doesn’t feel right, don’t ignore it.

Now, 9 weeks later, I feel a million times better. I thank God constantly for healing my body and for giving me the chance to one day grow babies in it. 🙏🏻🩷

Thirty Years in Thirty Days 🌟

Episode No. 25

In early 2018, less than a year after moving from Santa Barbara to Milwaukee, I was on a plane to Delhi for my second trip to India with three fellow adventurers. To say India inspires me is a wild understatement. I find it mysterious, confounding, exquisite, overwhelming, and filled with small kindnesses. It moves me like nowhere else on earth.

After these two trips, the stories spilled right out of me and onto the page, and I had the book in my hands before the end of the year. It was filled with photos, illustrations, and recipes. It was part diary, part guide book, part love letter, and it just might be my favorite of the six books I’ve written.

Post Script: About the two photos after the cover image. The second photo was taken in Jaipur. The third photo was taken at a roadside stand that sold decorations for trucks (it’s a thing.) It wasn’t until after we’d driven away that I discovered Mr. Photo Bomber in that picture. To this day, I think this is one of the best snapshots of the entire trip.

✨ What if you could truly FEEL the beauty and perfection of who you are in this moment, without the need to change anything?

What if you knew, deep in your heart, that you are worthy of love and capable of loving yourself fully — NOW?

How would your day, your life, shift from that space of self-acceptance and joy? 🔮

Thirty Years in Thirty Days 🌟

Episode No. 23

In the years following the small blogger retreat I organized in 2006, my work teaching and facilitating retreats continued to increase and expand. It was a time of community and collaboration, with gatherings that took place both online and in the real world. I was exploring a number of different methods and media—creating online courses and podcasts—all in service to my original mission, which was encouraging others to create a meaningful life.

This was a potent time in my career, when I was exhilarated by the idea of creating beautiful spaces in partnership with soulful, formidable women. I taught at, helped organize, attended, and led retreats all over the country, and loved organizing all the large and small details of bringing these visions to life.

Whatever type of event, it was a singular experience that always brought me to tears. After all the planning and preparation, the same kind of energy took over: the magic of women together and the power of all that love.
